NyPots Automatic Chicken Coop Door Solar — 8.2x9.6 in Opening with Timer & Light Sensor

The NyPots Automatic Chicken Coop Door is a solar-powered, timer-and-light-sensor controlled opener that secures and automates access for small poultry without daily manual effort.

If you keep chickens, ducks or other small birds and want a reliable way to open and close the coop without being there every morning and evening, this NyPots unit automates that routine while running mainly on sunlight. It combines a built-in rechargeable battery with an optional USB charge, an easy-to-read LCD, and multiple operating modes so you can tailor opening and closing to scheduled times or natural light. Rugged construction and safety features keep birds protected and the coop insulated against weather.

How does the door decide when to open or close?

The door offers two automated controls: a programmable timer and a light sensor mode. Use the timer to set exact open and close times for predictable schedules, or set it to follow dawn and dusk using the sensor so the door reacts to actual light conditions.

• Built-in light sensor for automatic dawn/dusk operation
• Dual-timer settings for precise open/close scheduling
• LCD displays current parameters for easy verification
• Option to charge via included cable for cloudy periods

Is the door safe for my chickens and easy to control manually?

Safety and manual override are both central to the design. The anti-pinch feature detects resistance while closing and pauses to prevent injury, and a manual mode lets you open or close the door directly or by remote when desired.

• Anti-pinch detection that reverses briefly if an obstruction is sensed
• Audible beep alerts if the door doesn't fully close
• Manual mode and remote capability for instant control
• Recommended for poultry under about 10 lbs for best results

What are the installation and physical specifications I should know?

Installation is straightforward and requires only basic tools and the supplied mounting screws. The door’s opening measures 8.2 inches wide by 9.6 inches high, and the housing is built from weather-resistant aluminum alloy and ABS plastic for lasting outdoor use.

• Opening size: 8.2" wide x 9.6" high — not suitable for turkeys
• Durable aluminum alloy and ABS construction for weather resistance
• Quick installation — typically around ten minutes with included screws
• Compatible with common coop mesh and small poultry enclosures

How does the solar power and backup charging work?

The integrated solar panel keeps the internal battery charged during sunlight, lowering energy costs and dependency on mains power. A USB charging cable is included to top up the battery before first use or during extended cloudy periods, ensuring reliable operation through poor weather.

• Solar panel for daily recharging and energy savings
• USB charging option included for backup power or initial charge
• Built-in rechargeable battery — charge fully before first setup
• Designed to keep working during power outages when charged

It suits hobbyists and small-scale farmers who need dependable operation day and night, with easy installation, safety features, and flexible powering options to reduce daily chores and improve coop security.
