Sweet PDZ Coop Refresher Zeolite Odor Eliminator — 10 lb Natural Ammonia & Moisture Control for Chicken Coops

Sweet PDZ Coop Refresher is a 100% natural zeolite mineral product that neutralizes ammonia and organic odors while helping keep bedding drier in chicken coops.

Made from a mined zeolite mineral, Sweet PDZ Coop Refresher is formulated specifically for use around poultry and other housed birds. It contains no perfumes, additives, or synthetic chemicals and is OMRI listed for agricultural use. Applied to coop floors, nesting boxes, or bedding, the mineral captures odors and moisture and can later be composted to return captured nutrients to the garden.

How does Sweet PDZ remove coop odors?

The zeolite in this product works by adsorbing ammonia and other volatile compounds rather than masking them with fragrance. Physically porous, the mineral traps odor molecules and holds moisture, reducing the pungent smell associated with poultry waste. Regular applications target hotspots like nesting areas and droppings boards for the best results.

• Adsorbs ammonia and volatile odor compounds without perfumes
• Porous mineral structure captures and retains moisture
• Use under roosts, in nesting boxes, or mixed into bedding

Will this product affect my birds or the coop environment?

Sweet PDZ is made from a natural mineral with no added chemicals, perfumes, or dyes and is OMRI listed for use in agricultural settings. When used as directed, it helps manage moisture and odors without leaving sticky residues or scents. It’s suitable for chickens, ducks, turkeys, quail, and other housed birds.

• No perfumes, additives, or chemical treatments included
• Safe for use around various poultry species when applied properly
• Leaves mineral residue that can be composted or added to garden soil

How do I apply and maintain Sweet PDZ in my coop?

Apply a thin layer of the zeolite wherever odors and dampness are most noticeable: on top of bedding, around nesting boxes, and under roosts. For deep-clean routines, remove soiled bedding, spread Sweet PDZ on the clean floor or fresh bedding, and reapply as needed between bedding changes. Reapplication frequency depends on flock size, coop ventilation, and moisture levels.

• Scatter a light layer on coop floor or mix into fresh bedding
• Reapply after cleaning or when odors return—adjust frequency per flock
• Scoop out droppings and replace heavily soiled bedding for best results

Can I compost the used Sweet PDZ and is it environmentally friendly?

Yes—Sweet PDZ captures waste and nutrients that make it suitable for composting once mixed with organic materials. The mineral helps retain nutrients rather than leaching them, so compost containing used Sweet PDZ can be incorporated into garden soils. Because it’s a natural zeolite without added chemicals, it’s designed to be an eco-conscious choice for small farms and backyard coops.

• Used mineral can be blended into compost piles with organic matter
• Helps retain captured nutrients in compost rather than letting them leach away
• OMRI listed, supporting organic and sustainable practices

Who is this for: Sweet PDZ Coop Refresher is aimed at backyard poultry keepers, small-scale farmers, and anyone who wants a natural, low-maintenance way to reduce ammonia smell and dampness in housed-bird environments. It’s particularly useful for multi-bird flocks, people with limited coop ventilation, or those seeking an OMRI-listed alternative to chemical deodorizers. If you prefer simple, mineral-based maintenance that can be composted afterward, this product provides a straightforward option for cleaner, less odorous coops.
