NyPots Automatic Chicken Coop Door — Solar-powered with Timer & Light Sensor, LCD Programming and Battery Backup

Designed for backyard flocks, this automatic coop door blends solar charging, a battery backup, and simple controls to remove the hassle of manually letting birds in and out. The unit combines an LCD for easy programming, an anti-pinch safety system, and durable, weather-resistant construction so it works reliably in a wide range of climates. It’s sized for small poultry and can be installed quickly on most coop walls or mesh frames.

How does the NyPots door run without complex wiring?

The door uses a built-in 2000mAh battery that charges from the included solar panel and can also be charged via the supplied cable. That hybrid charging approach means you get automatic operation without running external power lines or worrying about occasional power outages.

• 2000mAh internal battery for multi-day operation
• Solar panel included for routine daytime charging
• USB charging cable provided as a backup option
• No hardwiring required—simple plug-and-play setup

Can I schedule openings and closings for my flock?

Yes—the unit offers both timer-based programming and light-sensor automation so you can choose fixed times or let natural daylight trigger the door. An easy-to-read LCD shows your settings and makes adjustments straightforward, whether you want strict schedules or adaptive operation tied to sunrise and sunset.

• Timer mode: set precise open and close times
• Light-sensor mode: opens/closes based on ambient brightness
• Combined modes allow flexible routines for travel or irregular days
• LCD display simplifies programming and review of settings

What safety features protect my chickens?

The NyPots door includes an anti-pinch system that detects resistance while closing and reverses or pauses movement to prevent injury. Audible alerts notify you if the door doesn’t fully close, and the motor logic provides a short bounce-back interval to clear obstructions before completing the cycle.

• Anti-pinch detection reverses if movement is blocked
• 10-second bounce-back routine to clear trapped feathers or feet
• Beep alarm if the door fails to latch completely
• Manual and remote override options for immediate control

How tough is this door in bad weather and which birds fit?

The assembly uses aluminum alloy and ABS plastics for a weather-resistant package rated to operate from -26°C to 60°C, resistant to rain, snow, and dust. The opening measures roughly 8.2 inches wide by 9.6 inches high, making it suitable for chickens, ducks, geese, and other small poultry generally under about 10 pounds.

• Durable aluminum alloy frame and ABS components
• Weatherproof design for cold, heat, rain, and snow
• Opening: 8.2" wide x 9.6" high (not suitable for turkeys)
• Recommended for small poultry up to ~10 lbs and compatible with mesh coops
