PRECISION PET Chicken Nesting Pads 13" x 13" 10-Pack Beige — biodegradable, cushioned wood-shaving liners

PRECISION PET Chicken Nesting Pads by Petmate are 13" x 13" biodegradable nest liners that keep eggs clean, cushioned, and dry while encouraging hens to lay in a single spot.

These nesting pads combine a soft excelsior wood-shaving surface with an absorbent paper backing to create a sanitary, comfortable laying area. Each 13" x 13" pad is flexible enough for hens to shape but sturdy enough to protect eggs from rolling and breaking. Sold in a pack of 10, the pads are made from 100% Great Lakes Aspen and crafted in the USA, then fully compostable for an eco-friendly afterlife.

How do these pads keep eggs clean and dry?

The pads use thin wood shavings on top and an absorbent paper lining underneath to wick moisture away from the shell. That separation helps prevent soiling on the egg surface and reduces dampness inside the nest. Cleaner, drier nests make egg collection and storage easier.

• Excelsior wood-shaving surface draws moisture away from eggs
• Paper backing locks in liquid below the surface
• Reduced wetness lowers dirt and bacterial buildup on shells

Will these pads fit my nesting boxes and withstand hen activity?

At 13" x 13", each pad is sized to fit most standard nesting boxes and specific Petmate coop nests. The material is soft for hen comfort yet holds shape so birds can rearrange nesting material without tearing it apart. The pads stay in place and keep nests tidy through frequent use.

• Standard 13" x 13" dimension suits most boxes
• Flexible but durable excelsior surface resists shredding
• Designed to encourage hens to lay in a single, consistent spot

How do these nesting pads protect eggs from breakage?

The cushioned shavings absorb minor impacts and provide a soft landing for eggs, greatly reducing cracking from hens hopping in and out. Because hens prefer the padded surface over hard floors, eggs are less likely to roll or collide with box edges. This combination of comfort and stability leads to fewer damaged eggs.

• Soft wood-shaving top cushions eggs from impact
• Pads conform slightly under weight to prevent rolling
• Encourages one laying location to reduce collisions and breakage

What happens to the pads after use?

Made entirely from biodegradable Great Lakes Aspen and paper backing, these nesting pads are compostable and can be returned to the soil after serving their purpose. Composting used pads is an easy way to recycle nutrients back into garden beds or coop bedding. Their sustainable sourcing also supports eco-conscious flock management.

• 100% biodegradable materials for safe composting
• Sustainably sourced from Great Lakes Aspen
• Made in the USA to consistent quality standards
