Pennington Squirrel & Critter Blend — Sunflower, Corn & In-Shell Peanuts, 10 lb BIRD-KOTE Enriched

Pennington Squirrel & Critter Blend is a 10 lb bag of corn, sunflower and in-shell peanuts formulated to attract and feed squirrels, chipmunks and ducks while drawing them away from bird feeders.

This outdoor wildlife mix combines ingredients that small mammals and waterfowl find irresistible—dried corn kernels, black oil sunflower, and in-shell peanuts—plus Pennington's BIRD-KOTE enrichment for added vitamins and nutrients. The recipe works in squirrel-specific feeders, tray stations, or scattered on the ground, making it a flexible option for homeowners who want to enjoy backyard wildlife without compromising bird feeding stations.

How does this blend keep squirrels away from bird feeders?

By offering a dedicated, highly palatable food source, the blend redirects squirrels and other ground-feeding critters from bird feeders. The mix contains large, energy-rich pieces like corn and peanuts that attract mammals looking for an easy meal, so they are less likely to climb to bird platforms.

• High-attraction ingredients: corn, sunflower seeds, in-shell peanuts
• Works in ground scatter or squirrel feeders to reduce feeder raids
• Suitable for tray and platform feeders placed away from bird stations

What makes Pennington’s formula different from plain seed mixes?

Pennington adds BIRD-KOTE technology to supply vitamins and nutrients that help round out the diet of visiting critters without altering the natural feeding behavior. The mix focuses on high-energy, whole ingredients rather than finely milled seed, giving larger mammals and waterfowl the texture and size they prefer.

• BIRD-KOTE enrichment provides added nutrients
• Chunkier components for mammal and waterfowl appeal
• No need to combine multiple products—ready to use straight from the bag

How should I use the 10 lb bag for best results?

You can pour the blend into a squirrel feeder or tray, scatter it on the ground where chipmunks and squirrels forage, or place it near ponds to attract ducks. Start with a small daily scatter to establish feeding patterns and move feeding stations as needed to manage wear on lawns or gardens.

• Fits common squirrel and tray feeders
• Scatter on the ground for chipmunks and ducks
• Control portions to manage wildlife congregation and lawn impact

Will this attract animals I don’t want, and is it safe for backyard use?

Any wildlife feed can attract non-target animals; placement and portioning help limit unintended visitors. Use feeders or targeted ground spots away from patios, garages, and vegetable beds to reduce pest attraction. The product is designed for outdoor use and formulated with enrichment, but always follow local wildlife ordinances and responsible feeding practices.

• Place feeders strategically to limit access by larger unwanted animals
• Monitor feeding areas and adjust quantities to prevent overconcentration
• Follow local guidelines on feeding wildlife in residential areas

Who is this for: Pennington Squirrel & Critter Blend is for homeowners and wildlife enthusiasts who want an easy, ready-to-use option to attract and nourish backyard squirrels, chipmunks and ducks while reducing pressure on songbird feeders. It suits people using squirrel feeders, tray feeders, or anyone who prefers to scatter feed—particularly those seeking a nutritionally enhanced mix with recognizable whole ingredients.
