What kinds of birds will this seed attract?

The Pennington blend is formulated to draw a broad range of backyard species, from finches and sparrows to titmice and cardinals. The sunflower seeds and white proso millet are favorites for many common garden birds, while milo and wheat appeal to ground-feeding and hopper-using visitors. Results depend on region and feeder type, but the mixture is widely recognized for producing a diverse feeding flock.

• Sunflower seed attracts cardinals, chickadees and nuthatches
• White proso millet appeals to sparrows and juncos
• Milo and wheat draw ground-feeders and hopper visitors
• Works across tube, platform, hopper and gazebo feeders

How does BIRD-KOTE technology benefit wild birds?

BIRD-KOTE is Pennington's nutrient enrichment process that adds vitamins and minerals to the seed blend to support general bird health and energy needs. It does not change how birds feed, but it enhances the nutritional profile compared with plain seed mixes. The added nutrients are blended into the seed so birds receive them naturally as they eat.

• Provides supplemental vitamins and minerals for daily energy
• Coats seeds evenly so nutrition is delivered as birds feed
• Designed to support active feeding through all seasons

Which feeders and settings work best for this mix?

This Pennington blend is compatible with most feeder designs, including tube, platform, hopper and gazebo styles. Use tube or hopper feeders to reduce waste from smaller seeds, or a platform feeder to welcome ground-feeding species. The bucket makes it easy to pour into feeders without extra scooping or mess.

• Tube feeders for clinging songbirds and sunflower pieces
• Hopper feeders for larger birds and mixed seeds
• Platform feeders to invite ground-feeders and jays
• Bucket simplifies refilling and short-term storage

How should I store and handle the 22.5-lb bucket?

The product comes in a reusable plastic bucket with a tight-fitting lid to help keep pests and moisture out between uses. Store the bucket in a cool, dry place such as a garage, shed or covered patio away from direct sun. If you transfer seed to another container, choose a rodent-proof, airtight bin to preserve freshness.

• Keep the lid secured to deter squirrels, mice and insects
• Store indoors or under cover to avoid moisture buildup
• Use the bucket’s handle and pour-friendly rim for easy refills

Who is this for: Pennington Wild Bird Food in the 22.5-lb bucket is intended for backyard bird enthusiasts who want a versatile, year-round seed blend that attracts a broad variety of species. It's a good fit for homeowners who use multiple feeder types, need a convenient refill solution, and prefer a fortified seed mix that prioritizes convenience and balanced nutrition for common wild birds.
