Titleist AVX Golf Balls – Low-Spin, Soft Urethane Cover (Yellow, Dozen)

Titleist AVX golf balls deliver a low, penetrating flight with very low iron spin, an exceptionally soft feel, and refined greenside control for players seeking longer distance and better short-game performance.

Designed as a premium option in Titleist’s lineup, the AVX blends a new high-gradient core, a thin high-flex casing layer, and a softer urethane cover to shift ball behavior toward lower launch and reduced spin on long shots while preserving touch around the greens. The updated 346 quadrilateral dipyramid catenary dimple pattern promotes a piercing trajectory, helping the ball cut through wind for more consistent distance. These engineering changes make the AVX suited to players who prioritize straighter, longer iron shots without sacrificing the soft feel and control needed on and around the green.

How does the AVX produce longer distance from tee to green?

The AVX achieves greater carry and roll by combining a high-speed, high-gradient core with a thin, high-flex casing layer. That pairing lowers long-game spin and increases ball speed, so shots travel farther while maintaining a stable flight profile.

• High-gradient core for increased ball speed and soft impact sensation
• Thin high-flex casing reduces spin on long shots to maximize carry
• Optimized dimple design for a more penetrating trajectory and reduced drag

What feel and short-game control can I expect around the greens?

Although engineered for low flight and low long-game spin, the AVX keeps a noticeably soft touch due to its retooled urethane cover. That softer surface enhances greenside spin and allows for better stopping power and feel on chips, pitches, and putts.

• Softer urethane cover for improved spin on short shots
• Consistent compression and feel across swing speeds
• Responsive feedback that helps with touch shots and delicate distance control

Will the AVX suit my swing speed and playing conditions?

The AVX favors players who want a lower-launch, low-spin profile; it performs especially well for mid-to-high swing speeds that benefit from the core and casing combination. In breezy conditions the piercing flight from the new dimple pattern helps the ball maintain speed and trajectory, but players who need higher launch or more spin from their irons may prefer a different Titleist model.

• Best for players who prefer low trajectory and reduced long-game spin
• Performs well in wind due to a penetrating flight path
• Not targeted at players seeking maximum spin or high launch characteristics

How has the AVX been redesigned compared to previous versions?

The latest AVX introduces material and geometry updates to refine distance, feel, and flight. Improvements include a new high-gradient core, a thinner high-flex casing layer, a redesigned 346 quadrilateral dipyramid catenary dimple array, and a softer urethane cover to balance long-game performance with short-game control.

• New core formulation for softer feel and greater energy transfer
• Thinner, more flexible casing to cut long-game spin
• Advanced dimple pattern for a lower, more stable trajectory
• Softer cover to enhance greenside bite and feedback

Who is this for: The Titleist AVX is aimed at golfers who want a premium ball that reduces long-game spin and delivers a low, penetrating flight while still offering a soft feel and reliable short-game control. It’s a strong choice for skilled amateurs and better players with moderate to high swing speeds who prioritize roll and carry, consistent ball flight in windy conditions, and soft touch around the green. If you seek higher launch or maximum spin from irons and wedges, compare AVX with other Titleist models to match your performance priorities.
