Tapo 1080p Pan/Tilt Security Camera C201 — White, 360° Coverage & Night Vision

The Tapo C201 is a 1080p pan/tilt indoor Wi‑Fi camera that captures entire rooms, pushes motion and sound alerts, and streams secure footage for baby monitoring, pet watching, or home security.

Compact but powerful, the Tapo C201 combines a 360° horizontal sweep and 114° vertical tilt with Full HD resolution and infrared night vision to give a complete view of a room day or night. Set up through the Tapo app over 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, customize notifications for motion, person detection, or baby crying, and choose either local microSD recording or cloud backup with Tapo Care. The camera also supports two‑way audio and a built‑in siren for live interaction and simple deterrence.

How much of a room can the C201 actually cover?

The C201 uses motorized pan and tilt to scan wide areas that a fixed camera would miss, reducing blind spots and the need for multiple devices. It’s well suited to living rooms, nurseries, hallways, or office spaces where you want flexible viewing angles.

• 360° horizontal rotation for full-room panning.
• 114° vertical tilt to capture floor-to-ceiling detail.
• Remote control via the Tapo app to reposition the lens instantly.

What detection and alert options will I get?

Notifications arrive on your phone whenever the camera detects motion, a person, or baby crying, letting you prioritize alerts that matter. You can fine-tune sensitivity and schedule detection windows so the camera only notifies you at relevant times.

• Motion and person detection with adjustable sensitivity.
• Baby crying detection for nursery monitoring without extra fees.
• Instant push notifications through the Tapo app for real-time awareness.

How is footage stored and viewed securely?

Tapo offers flexible storage to fit different privacy and archiving needs: local recording to a microSD card or cloud retention via Tapo Care. Live streams and recorded clips are accessed in the app; check compatibility for microSD cards before purchasing to ensure reliable local recording.

• Supports microSD cards up to 512 GB (card not included) for continuous local recording.
• Tapo Care cloud plans keep 30-day video history and add features like motion tracking.
• Encrypted streaming and account access managed through the Tapo app.

Can I use the camera at night or communicate through it?

The integrated IR system delivers night vision up to roughly 30 feet so you can see in low-light conditions. Two-way audio lets you listen and speak through the camera, useful for calming a baby or checking on a pet, and a built-in siren provides a quick audible deterrent if needed.

• Infrared night vision reaches up to 30 ft for clear low-light viewing.
• Two-way audio with microphone and speaker for live interaction.
• Built-in siren accessible from the app to help deter intruders or alert household members.

Who this is for: The Tapo C201 fits users who want a versatile, affordable indoor camera with wide coverage and everyday convenience. It’s a good match for parents who need a dependable baby monitor without subscription-only features, pet owners who want to check in and interact remotely, and homeowners seeking an easy-to-install camera with local or cloud storage choices.
