GoPro 360 Action Camera MAX2 — True 8K Spherical Video, Waterproof, Replaceable Lenses

GoPro MAX2 is a rugged, waterproof 360 action camera that records True 8K spherical video, captures 29MP 360 photos, and offers replaceable glass lenses with HyperSmooth stabilization.

Designed to capture everything around you without worrying about framing, the MAX2 combines immersive 360° recording with traditional single-lens footage options. Shoot full-sphere videos and reframe them later into shareable 4K clips, or mount the camera on a pole and make the pole visually disappear for drone-like perspectives. Built for action, the camera includes a touch screen, six microphones for spatial audio, and a durable, water-repellent optical-glass lens design that can be swapped out if damaged.

How does MAX2 capture immersive 360° video and stills?

MAX2 records True 8K spherical video that preserves far more detail across the full 360° field of view, so you can reframe shots later without losing image quality. The two lenses stitch together a continuous sphere that lets you pick any viewing angle after the fact using the GoPro Quik app.

• True 8K 360 video for higher-resolution reframing and output.
• 29MP 360 photos for wide-angle, immersive still imagery.
• GoPro Quik app Reframe tools to export 4K traditional clips from 360 footage.
• Six onboard microphones capture spatial audio to match immersive video.

What stabilization and mounting options does it offer for action shots?

MAX2 features HyperSmooth stabilization optimized for both 360 and single-lens modes to keep footage steady during fast motion. The camera includes a 1/4-20 threaded mount for extension poles and other accessories, enabling invisible-pole shots that remove the pole from your final frame.

• HyperSmooth stabilization and Horizon Lock for smooth, level footage.
• Invisible mounting via bottom 1/4-20 threads for pole-mounted shots.
• Reframe and stabilization adjustments available after recording in the app.
• Includes curved adhesive mount and mounting buckle with thumb screw.

Are the lenses durable, and what happens if they get damaged?

The MAX2 uses water-repellent optical glass lenses designed to withstand tough conditions, and each lens is replaceable so you can swap a scratched or cracked lens without replacing the whole camera. Replaceable lenses save time and cost when you’re shooting in abrasive or high-impact environments.

• Water-repellent, super-strong optical glass lenses for clarity in wet conditions.
• Replaceable-lens design means easy repairs and less downtime in the field.
• Protective lens caps included to reduce the chance of scratches during transport.
• Replacement lenses sold separately for quick on-location maintenance.

How do I turn 360 footage into conventional social-ready clips?

After recording, use the GoPro Quik app to Reframe 360 footage into standard 4K widescreen or vertical clips for platforms like YouTube and TikTok. The app lets you choose perspective, adjust stabilization, and export finished edits in common formats for immediate sharing.

• Reframe 360 to 4K widescreen or vertical formats in the GoPro Quik app.
• Adjust stabilization, Horizon Lock, and perspective after capture.
• Export ready-to-share clips compatible with phones, TVs, and social platforms.
• Save multiple edits from a single 360 recording to explore different angles.

Who is this for? The GoPro MAX2 fits content creators, outdoor athletes, travel vloggers, and adventure filmmakers who want the flexibility of full 360 capture plus the option to produce conventional POV footage. It’s ideal for users who need rugged hardware, advanced stabilization, and the ability to repair lens damage in the field while still delivering high-resolution, social-friendly output.
