DEWALT 20V MAX LED Work Light/Flashlight DCL040 — 110 Lumens, 120° Adjustable Head

The DEWALT 20V MAX LED Work Light/Flashlight (DCL040) is a compact, bright LED light with a 120° adjustable head and an integrated hook for hands-free jobsite illumination.

Compact and purpose-built for tradespeople, hobbyists, and homeowners, the DCL040 delivers reliable LED output while minimizing heat and maximizing runtime. It runs on the DEWALT 20V MAX battery platform (battery and charger sold separately), producing 110 lumens from an efficient LED that lasts far longer than traditional xenon bulbs. Rugged construction and a rotating head make it easy to position the light where you need it without holding it.

How bright is this DEWALT work light and what kind of runtime can I expect?

The DCL040 produces 110 lumens of steady LED output, enough to illuminate close-quarter tasks, toolboxes, and work areas. LED efficiency allows extended runtime compared with xenon bulbs, with actual hours depending on battery capacity.

• 110 lumens of LED light for focused task illumination
• 11 to 25 hours runtime range depending on battery amp-hour rating
• Low heat output extends LED life and improves safety in tight spaces

How does the adjustable head and hook improve hands-free use?

The head rotates up to 120°, letting you aim the beam without moving the base. An integral hook provides multiple hanging options, so the light can hang from beams, pipes, or the side of a ladder to keep both hands free.

• 120° rotating head to direct light where needed
• Built-in hook supports hanging in a variety of positions
• Stable base allows the light to stand upright on flat surfaces

Is this flashlight durable enough for jobsite conditions?

The DCL040 is designed for everyday jobsite use with a compact housing that resists wear from regular handling. The LED’s low heat output reduces stress on internal components, while the simple mechanical design makes it easy to place and reposition under tough conditions.

• Rugged exterior suited to tool-bag and jobsite use
• Low internal heat from LED increases component longevity
• Simple, reliable rotating mechanism and hook for frequent adjustments

What batteries and accessories work with this DEWALT light?

The DCL040 is part of DEWALT’s 20V MAX ecosystem and accepts compatible 20V MAX batteries (sold separately), so you can use existing battery packs if you already own DEWALT cordless tools. Because no charger is included, plan to pair the light with a charger and battery you already have or buy them together.

• Works with DEWALT 20V MAX battery packs (battery/charger sold separately)
• Small footprint fits in tool bags and on crowded workbenches
• Plug-and-play with the DEWALT 20V MAX system for power continuity

Who is this for: The DEWALT DCL040 suits contractors, mechanics, electricians, and DIYers who need a lightweight, dependable task light for confined spaces, quick inspections, or hands-free illumination. If you already use DEWALT 20V MAX batteries, it integrates seamlessly into your kit; if you need a simple portable LED light that runs cool and lasts long, this model is a practical, no-frills choice.
