ZIWI Peak Steam & Dried Cat Food — Cage-Free Chicken & Whole Mackerel, 28.8oz, High-Protein Low-Carb for Skin & Coat

ZIWI Peak Steam & Dried Cat Food Cage-Free Chicken with Whole Mackerel is a high-protein, low-carb, steam-and-dried recipe that combines New Zealand cage-free chicken and wild-caught mackerel for nutrient-dense, shelf-stable daily feeding.

This formula uses ZIWI's two-step Z-MicroSteam™ process—gentle steaming followed by careful air-drying—to preserve the natural nutrients and flavors of whole muscle meat, organs, bone and fish. The blend emphasizes animal-first ingredients, provides a crunchy texture cats enjoy, and supplies omega-3s from whole mackerel to support healthy skin and coats. Grain-free and formulated for all life stages, it serves equally well as a complete meal or a nourishing topper.

How does the Z-MicroSteam™ process protect nutrients?

Z-MicroSteam™ gently cooks ingredients to eliminate harmful bacteria while retaining vitamins, minerals and the flavorful compounds that attract cats. A secondary air-dry step concentrates nutrients without the intense heat of conventional extrusion, giving a fresh-food profile with shelf stability.

• Gentle steam locks in moisture-soluble nutrients without overcooking.
• Careful air-drying removes water while preserving heat-sensitive vitamins.
• Delivers shelf-stable food with a fresh-food nutrient profile similar to lightly cooked diets.

What are the key ingredients and why they matter?

This recipe features 90% animal-sourced components, including cage-free chicken, wild-caught whole mackerel, organs and bone for bioavailable protein, fats, and minerals. Mackerel adds natural omega-3 fatty acids which support skin condition and coat sheen without relying on synthetic additives.

• Cage-free chicken supplies lean, digestible protein and essential amino acids.
• Whole mackerel provides DHA and EPA for skin, coat, and overall wellness.
• Organs and bone contribute vitamins, minerals and natural calcium-phosphorus balance.
• Grain-free formulation avoids common fillers and excess carbohydrates.

Can this food be used for kittens, adults and seniors?

Yes—this ZIWI Peak recipe is formulated for all life stages, offering concentrated protein and nutrients suitable from kitten growth through adult maintenance and senior support. Feeding amounts should be adjusted by age, activity level and body condition to maintain healthy weight.

• High-quality protein supports growth in kittens and muscle mass in adults.
• Low carbohydrate profile helps weight management for indoor or less-active cats.
• Suitable as a primary diet or as a nutrient-rich topper for picky eaters.

How should I serve and store this steam & dried food?

Serve dry straight from the bag, mix with water for a softer texture, or sprinkle as a topper over another food to boost palatability and nutrition. Store sealed in a cool, dry place to maintain freshness; reseal or use an airtight container after opening.

• Serve dry for crunchy texture and dental stimulation.
• Rehydrate with warm water to create a softer, stew-like meal.
• Keep in a cool pantry; use within recommended time after opening.
