Zerex American Vehicle 50/50 Antifreeze Coolant 1 Gallon Orange OAT Pre‑Mixed, -34°F/265°F Protection

Zerex American Vehicle 50/50 Ready-to-Use Antifreeze Coolant is an orange, pre-mixed OAT formula designed to protect modern American vehicles from freezing, boiling and corrosion. Zerex from Valvoline is a top OEM-approved coolant recommended for Ford, Chrysler and General Motors vehicles that call for an extended-life orange formula. This 1-gallon, ready-to-use 50/50 mix removes the guesswork of dilution and delivers corrosion protection for aluminum and other metals while resisting scale, rust and leaks. The silicate- and phosphate-free Organic Acid Technology (OAT) formula is engineered to help cooling systems run clean and reliable through seasonal temperature swings.

What protection does this coolant offer for summer and winter conditions?

The Zerex American Vehicle 50/50 formula guards against both freezing and boiling so engines can operate across extreme temperatures without coolant failure. It arrives already diluted to a 50/50 ratio and is rated to prevent freeze-ups down to -34°F and protect against boil-over up to 265°F.

• Pre-mixed 50/50 concentration for immediate use
• Freeze protection to -34°F and boil protection to 265°F
• Helps prevent cooling system failure from freeze/boil events

How does Zerex protect metal parts and prevent corrosion?

Using Organic Acid Technology, this coolant resists corrosion, scale and rust on radiators, water pumps and other cooling system metals, including aluminum. It is formulated without silicates, phosphates, amines, borates, nitrates or nitrites, reducing the chance of deposit buildup and helping components stay cleaner longer.

• OAT inhibitors tailored for modern aluminum-rich systems
• No silicates or phosphates to reduce harmful deposits
• Laboratory batch-tested for inhibitor performance

Will Zerex harm seals, hoses or paint on my vehicle?

Zerex American Vehicle coolant includes high-quality additives that protect against leaks while remaining compatible with gaskets, hoses, plastics and original vehicle finishes. The formulation is designed to be safe for the materials commonly used in contemporary cooling systems when used as directed.

• Non-damaging to common cooling system elastomers and plastics
• Formulated to minimize leaks and protect component lifespan
• Bittering agent included for safety handling (30–50 ppm denatonium benzoate)

How long will this coolant protect my vehicle, and how is it tested?

Zerex American Vehicle offers long-term protection with a 5 year/150,000 mile service interval for recommended use, helping reduce the frequency of full coolant replacements. The product is batch-tested in labs and evaluated in fleet conditions to confirm performance under real-world driving stresses.

• 5 year / 150,000 mile protection when used per guidelines
• Batch lab testing plus fleet testing for proven durability
• Suitable for topping off or full system flush and refill

Who is this for? If you own an American-made car or truck that specifies an orange extended-life OAT coolant—particularly many Ford, Chrysler and GM models—this 1-gallon, ready-to-use Zerex formula simplifies maintenance and supports long-term cooling system health. It's aimed at DIY mechanics, professional shops and fleet operators who want an OEM-approved, silicate- and phosphate-free coolant that protects aluminum components, prevents freeze/boil failures, and reduces corrosion and deposits. Use it for routine top-offs, system flushes, or when replacing coolant to maintain manufacturer-specified protection.

FAQ
