Yardlock XLS Keyless Gate Lock 2-Pack — Silver Heavy-Duty, Weather-Resistant Mechanical Code Latch

Yardlock XLS Keyless Gate Lock is a heavy-duty, mechanical 2-way code latch system that secures swinging wood or vinyl gates without keys, batteries, or electronics.

This stainless-steel and die-cast mechanical lock offers a weather-resistant, rust-resistant solution for residential fences, delivering reliable keyless access for both entering and exiting the yard. The XLS model features oversized dials for easy code entry, a covered latch mechanism that can’t be accessed from over the fence, and straightforward installation hardware included in the box. Because it uses a personal two-way code and a mechanical pull wire that releases the latch, it eliminates the need to carry keys or maintain batteries.

How does the Yardlock XLS let me open and close my gate without a key?

The XLS uses a two-way numeric code entered on large dials; when the correct code is set, turning the dial pulls a concealed wire through the post to retract the latch. Pushing the latch allows the gate to swing open and closing resets the latch automatically for security.

• Personal 2-way code set on XL dials for easy readability.
• Mechanical wire actuator runs through the post to pull the latch.
• No keys, batteries, or electronics required—purely mechanical operation.
• Latch cover prevents reaching over the fence to manipulate the lock.

Will this lock fit my gate and how durable is it outdoors?

The Yardlock XLS fits most swinging wood and vinyl gates that open inward or outward. Built from a die-cast box, stainless-steel latch, and a protective silver cover, the design resists rust and shedding from weather so it performs outdoors year-round.

• Compatible with wood and vinyl gate materials and both swing directions.
• 3" wide x 5" high XLS body with XL-sized dials for visibility.
• Stainless-steel latch and rust-resistant finish for extended outdoor use.
• Patented mechanical design (US Patent: 9,528,306; Canada Patent: 2856757).

How difficult is installation and what tools do I need?

Installation is straightforward for a confident DIYer and comes with all required mounting hardware. You’ll need a tape measure, electric drill, Phillips bit, and a wood drill bit; the package includes the lock, latch, cable and fasteners plus an installation guide and supporting videos.

• All mounting hardware included in the box—no extra parts required.
• Typical tools: tape measure, electric drill, Phillips and wood drill bits.
• Step-by-step installation videos and printable guide for reference.
• Mounts on posts so the pull wire runs internally through the gate post.

What practical features help keep my gate secure every day?

The Yardlock XLS emphasizes simple, dependable security: large dials for quick code entry, a covered latch that blocks tampering from over the fence, and a purely mechanical system that won’t fail from dead batteries or electronics malfunctions.

• Covered latch prevents access from outside the fence line.
• Mechanical operation eliminates battery failures and electrical faults.
• XL dials make code entry faster for adults and older users.
• Durable construction reduces maintenance and corrosion concerns.

Who is this for: Yardlock XLS is designed for homeowners, property managers, and caretakers who want a robust, low-maintenance gate lock that provides keyless convenience and solid physical security. It’s a good fit for wood or vinyl gates on family yards, rental properties, cottage entrances, and other sites where a reliable, mechanical solution is preferred over electronic alternatives.
