Wellness CORE+ Small Breed Dry Dog Food, 4 lb — High-Protein Turkey & Chicken with Freeze-Dried Pieces, Small Kibble

Wellness CORE+ Small Breed Adult is a high-protein dry dog food with crunchy grain kibble and 100% raw freeze-dried turkey pieces designed for small dogs' energy and taste preferences.

This recipe blends nutrient-dense kibble formulated for small-breed metabolisms with real freeze-dried turkey bites to increase palatability and protein density. Crafted by Wellness, the formula emphasizes animal-based ingredients, digestive support, and essential fatty acids while avoiding common fillers like corn, wheat, and soy. The result is a practical daily diet that balances convenience of dry food with the flavor and protein profile of raw inclusions.

How does this formula meet small-breed nutritional needs?

The kibble size, calorie balance, and protein content are tuned for smaller mouths and faster metabolisms. Higher protein supports lean muscle maintenance and the energy needs of active small adults without oversized nuggets.

• Smaller, bite-sized kibble for easier chewing and portion control
• High-quality animal proteins (turkey and chicken) as primary ingredients
• Balanced calorie density appropriate for adult small breeds
• Added glucosamine to help support joint comfort and mobility

What are the key ingredients and their benefits?

This recipe pairs all-natural grain kibble with freeze-dried turkey to boost protein and flavor while retaining the convenience of dry food. It also contains probiotics, omega fatty acids, and taurine to support digestion, skin and coat health, and overall well-being.

• 100% raw freeze-dried turkey pieces for extra animal protein and aroma
• Chicken and turkey as primary meat sources for essential amino acids
• Probiotics and fiber blend for digestive regularity
• Omega fatty acids and taurine for skin, coat, and heart support

How does this recipe avoid unwanted fillers and additives?

Wellness CORE+ omits common grain fillers and artificial additives, focusing on recognizable ingredients. The formula is free from corn, wheat, soy, poultry by-products, artificial colors, and preservatives, though it is made in a facility that may process grains.

• No corn, wheat, or soy included in the ingredient list
• No poultry by-product meals or artificial colors and preservatives
• Ingredients selected for transparency and nutritional value
• Manufactured in the U.S. in a facility meeting quality standards

How should I transition my dog to this food and serve it daily?

Switch gradually over 7–10 days by mixing increasing portions of Wellness CORE+ with the current diet to minimize digestive upset. Offer measured portions according to your dog's weight, activity level, and the feeding chart on the package, and adjust for body condition.

• Start with 25% new food and 75% current diet, increasing new food daily
• Feed measured meals twice daily for adult dogs unless otherwise directed
• Provide fresh water at every meal to support hydration
• Store the bag in a cool, dry place and reseal to keep freeze-dried pieces fresh

Who is this for: Wellness CORE+ Small Breed Adult is suited for adult small-breed dogs and owners who want a higher-protein, all-natural dry diet with the added appeal of freeze-dried raw turkey pieces. It fits households seeking convenient kibble that prioritizes animal-based ingredients, digestive and coat support, and avoids common fillers. If your small adult dog enjoys meaty flavor, needs a smaller kibble size, and benefits from probiotics and omega fatty acids, this formula is a practical everyday choice. Consult your veterinarian about any specific dietary concerns or life-stage needs before changing foods.
