Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter charcoal starter, Standard Silver — aluminized steel, extra-large capacity

The Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter is a high-capacity, aluminized-steel tool that lights charcoal quickly and evenly for faster cooking.

If you want hot, ready-to-use coals without fussing with lighter fluid, this chimney starter speeds the process while keeping flavors clean. Built with a cone-shaped grate, an ergonomic handle, and an extra-large bin, it’s designed to produce an even bed of coals fast and handle bigger loads for family grilling sessions or multiple cooks.

How fast does the Rapidfire Chimney Starter get coals ready?

Using natural fire-starters or crumpled newspaper beneath the cone, the chimney promotes airflow to ignite charcoal in minutes. The cone-shaped grate concentrates heat and encourages consistent ignition across the load.

• Extra-large capacity reduces the number of lighting cycles for larger cooks
• Cone-shaped grate produces a focused draw to accelerate ignition
• Aluminized steel construction transfers heat while resisting corrosion

What are the key design features that make lighting easier?

The chimney’s tall, cylindrical body and cone-shaped internal grate create steady airflow, which supports rapid combustion of charcoal pieces. The ergonomic handle keeps hands away from heat and gives secure control when pouring hot coals into the grill.

• Ergonomic handle lets you pour safely and confidently
• 13 in. height and 7.5 in. diameter fit common briquettes and lump charcoal
• Durable aluminized steel stands up to repeated heating cycles

How durable and easy to maintain is the chimney starter?

Constructed from aluminized steel, the Rapidfire Chimney Starter resists rust and warping under repeated heating. Its simple, open design makes it easy to empty ash and wipe down after use, so upkeep stays low.

• Aluminized steel finish increases longevity outdoors
• Simple form with no electronic parts reduces failure points
• Open bottom and removable ash pathway make cleaning straightforward

Will it work with different charcoal types and grill sizes?

The chimney is compatible with lump charcoal and briquettes and fits most standard-sized grills and kettles. Its extra-large bin can hold enough fuel for a full kettle or several smaller grill sessions.

• 7.5 in. diameter accommodates common charcoal shapes and sizes
• Large capacity supports high-volume or longer cooks
• Pouring geometry matches typical grill coal beds for even distribution

Who is this for: The Weber Rapidfire Chimney Starter is ideal for backyard cooks who want reliable, fast-starting coals without lighter fluid—especially families, backyard entertainers, and grillers who cook frequently or for groups. It’s also a good pick for anyone who prefers a durable, low-maintenance tool that speeds grill prep and delivers consistent results across briquettes and lump charcoal.
