Vetericyn Hot Spot Spray for Dogs, 8 oz — Soothes Itch, Cleans & Reduces Licking

Vetericyn Plus Hot Spot Spray is an 8-ounce, hypochlorous-based topical spray that cleans and soothes dogs' hot spots, reducing licking and chewing while supporting natural healing.

Made in the USA, Vetericyn Plus uses a non-toxic hypochlorous formulation designed to gently cleanse irritated skin, ease itch-driven behavior, and help prepare minor wounds and hot spots for recovery without antibiotics or steroids. This spray is veterinarian recommended, pH-balanced, and formulated to be safe if licked, making it practical for everyday at-home care for dogs and other animals.

How quickly does Vetericyn Plus Hot Spot Spray start to relieve itching?

Relief can be noticeable soon after application as the spray cools and cleans the irritated area. It addresses surface contaminants and soothes inflammation, reducing the urge to scratch or chew while you continue regular care.

• Apply a few sprays directly to the hot spot 1–3 times daily as needed.
• Cooling, cleansing action helps calm raw or inflamed skin immediately.
• Consistent use supports reduced licking and faster comfortable behavior.

Can I use this spray on open sores or after grooming?

Yes — Vetericyn Plus is formulated for use on minor open wounds and irritated skin as a gentle cleanser and soothing adjunct. It’s designed to be non-toxic and pH-balanced so it’s suitable for application after trimming or cleaning an affected area.

• Safe on superficial wounds, hot spots, and abrasions when used as directed.
• Useful after grooming to sanitize and calm freshly exposed skin.
• Avoid deep or severe wounds without veterinary consultation.

Is the formula safe if my pet licks the treated area?

The hypochlorous-based formula is non-toxic and made to be safe if incidental licking occurs, which helps when treating spots animals frequently reach. However, preventing persistent licking with an e-collar or other measures will help the healing process.

• pH-balanced and non-toxic for incidental oral exposure.
• Designed to reduce the need for harsh antibiotics or steroids.
• Combine with behavior-management (bandages, collars) for best results.

How should I store and apply the spray for best results?

Store the bottle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve effectiveness. Apply directly to the affected area, gently pat or allow to air-dry, and repeat applications per label instructions until the area shows improvement.

• Room-temperature storage, avoid heat and sunlight exposure.
• Spray several times to fully wet the affected site, do not rub harshly.
• Repeat daily or as recommended until irritation diminishes.
