Veepeak Bluetooth OBD-II Scanner OBDCheck BLE — Bluetooth LE adapter for iOS & Android, reads/clears codes

A compact Bluetooth LE OBD-II adapter from Veepeak that reads and clears generic check engine codes, displays live sensor data, and connects to compatible iOS and Android diagnostic apps. Veepeak OBDCheck BLE is a lightweight wireless adapter that plugs into any standard OBD-II port to give drivers quick access to engine trouble codes and live vehicle data using third-party apps. It supports Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connections for modern phones and tablets and is intended for basic OBD-II diagnostics—readers should confirm app compatibility for advanced or manufacturer-specific functions.

How do I use this with my smartphone?

Install a compatible OBD-II app on your iPhone or Android device, plug the Veepeak adapter into your vehicle’s OBD-II port, then open the app and select Bluetooth LE as the connection type. For iOS, do not pair the device in the system Bluetooth menu—connect directly from inside the app. Android users should also select BLE within the app; some Android head units may not be supported.

• Download a supported app such as Car Scanner, OBD Fusion, or Torque (Android).
• Insert adapter into the vehicle’s OBD-II port (usually under the dash).
• Open app and choose Bluetooth LE connection, not system pairing.
• Begin reading/clearing codes, viewing freeze-frame and live data.

What kind of diagnostic data can I expect?

This adapter provides the standard OBD-II data offered by your vehicle’s ECU: diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), freeze-frame snapshots, I/M readiness status, and live sensor streams. It does not natively support advanced manufacturer-specific systems like ABS or SRS—those depend on the app and vehicle support. Expect clear, real-time parameters useful for basic troubleshooting and monitoring.

• Read and clear generic check engine codes (MIL/DTCs).
• View live sensor values such as RPM, speed, and O2 sensors.
• Access freeze-frame data and I/M readiness monitors.
• Advanced module access requires compatible third-party apps and supported vehicles.

Which vehicles and apps are compatible?

Veepeak OBDCheck BLE is designed for most 1996-and-newer cars and light trucks in markets that use the OBD-II standard. Compatibility with hybrids and EVs varies by app; check the specific app documentation. The adapter works with many popular generic and some brand-specific apps, though several advanced tuning or manufacturer tools are not supported.

• Works for generic OBD-II functions on most 1996+ cars and light trucks.
• Compatible apps include Car Scanner, OBD Fusion, Torque (Android), and others.
• Not compatible with certain tuning tools like Carly, MHD, or bootmod3.
• Some app features may require in-app purchases or app-specific restrictions (e.g., BimmerCode limits).

Are there important limitations I should know?

The adapter focuses on generic OBD-II diagnostics and does not provide manufacturer-level service resets or advanced functions such as injector coding, ABS bleeding, EPB reset, or oil/service resets. Some vehicle-specific sensor data and modules are only accessible through specialized apps and supported vehicle protocols. Always verify the app’s capabilities before purchase if you need advanced diagnostics.

• Not intended for ABS, SRS, transmission reprogramming, or service resets.
• MS-CAN and some older model year features have additional app restrictions.
• Some third-party app functions require separate purchases from those developers.
• Do not pair via phone Bluetooth menu for iOS—connect inside the app.

This Veepeak adapter is best for DIY mechanics, car owners who want quick engine checks, and technicians who need a portable, app-driven basic OBD-II interface. Choose this unit if you want wireless access to standard diagnostic trouble codes and live sensor data on your iOS or Android device—but if you require manufacturer-level programming or specialized service procedures, confirm app and vehicle support or consider a professional scan tool.
