Valvoline Restore & Protect Full Synthetic Motor Oil 5W-20, 5 Quart — deposit-cleaning & anti-wear protection

If you want to recover lost performance and protect your engine long term, this 5-quart jug provides a full synthetic 5W-20 formulation designed for modern gasoline engines. Valvoline’s Restore & Protect blends Active Clean Technology to strip away hidden piston deposits and Liqui-Shield components to slow new deposit formation, while meeting current industry specifications for broad compatibility.

How does this oil improve engine performance?

Restore & Protect targets deposits that form on pistons and ring lands, which can reduce compression and fuel efficiency over time. By removing those deposits across consecutive oil changes, engines can regain responsiveness and smoother operation without mechanical overhaul.

• Active Clean Technology helps dissolve hidden piston deposits.
• Liqui-Shield reduces surface friction for steadier power delivery.
• Helps restore fuel economy lost to buildup when used as directed.

Can this oil protect critical components and extend engine life?

Yes — the formula includes enhanced anti-wear additives that defend vital parts like camshafts and bearings. Valvoline states this oil gives significantly stronger anti-wear protection compared with GF-6 qualified oils, helping reduce wear under everyday driving conditions.

• 79% stronger anti-wear performance versus GF-6 qualified oils.
• Full synthetic base stocks for stable oil films at operating temperature.
• Meets API and ILSAC standards for reliable protection.

Is this oil compatible with modern engines and service intervals?

Restore & Protect 5W-20 meets ILSAC GF-7A and API SP/SQ requirements, making it suitable for many contemporary gasoline engines that specify 5W-20 viscosity. It is formulated for use from new-car first fills through high-mileage engines, offering broad application when you follow manufacturer guidelines.

• Approved to ILSAC GF-7A, API SP and API SQ performance levels.
• Listed for Ford WSS-M2C960-A1 and Chrysler MS-6395 where applicable.
• Suitable for vehicles calling for 5W-20 full synthetic oils.

How should I use it to get the remove-and-defend benefits?

The piston-cleaning claim applies after consecutive oil changes using Restore & Protect as directed; continued use helps maintain the benefit. For best results, follow your vehicle manufacturer’s oil-change interval and replace the oil and filter each service.

• Use for at least four consecutive oil changes to achieve maximum piston deposit removal.
• Always change the oil filter with each oil replacement.
• Continue regular use to keep engines cleaner and resist new deposits.

Who is this for: Valvoline Restore & Protect Full Synthetic 5W-20 is aimed at drivers who want to restore lost engine cleanliness and maintain long-term protection — from owners of newer cars seeking top-tier synthetic protection to high-mileage vehicles needing deposit removal. Choose this oil if your engine specifies 5W-20 and you want a product that combines deposit removal, deposit prevention, and strong anti-wear defenses backed by current API and ILSAC approvals.
