Urnex Grindz Coffee Grinder Cleaning Tablets 430 g — Food‑Safe Gluten‑Free, Cleans Burrs & Oils

Urnex Grindz are all-natural, food-safe grinder cleaning tablets that remove stale grounds and oil residue by being ground through your coffee grinder just like beans.

Keeping a coffee grinder clean is essential for consistent flavor and reliable performance. Grindz tablets are compressed grains shaped like beans and formulated to loosen trapped coffee particles and absorb oils as they pass through burrs and casings. Because they are food-safe and gluten-free, Grindz provide a maintenance routine without disassembly, making them practical for home baristas, cafes, and anyone who changes beans frequently.

How does Grindz clean a grinder without taking it apart?

Grindz works by physically scrubbing and absorbing residues as the tablet is ground through the machine. The powdered grains act like a gentle abrasive to dislodge stale grounds while absorbing oils that cling to burrs and housings. This process clears particle build-up and reduces off-flavors without needing to remove burr sets or open the casing.

• Run tablets through the grinder exactly like beans — no tools required.
• Tablets loosen compacted grounds that accumulate in burr grooves and chutes.
• Absorbs flavored-coffee oils to reduce cross-contamination between beans.
• Safe for regular maintenance when used per manufacturer instructions.

When should I use Grindz and how often?

Frequency depends on volume and bean types: busy cafes or users who switch bean varieties often will benefit from weekly use, while occasional home users may clean monthly. Use Grindz after running the last of one bean batch and before introducing a new variety to minimize flavor transfer. For high-volume setups, shorter intervals help preserve consistent grind quality and extend the working life of burrs.

• Home use: about once a month or when changing beans.
• Small commercial use: weekly or whenever flavor transfer is noticeable.
• Always follow with a small amount of beans or grounds to purge any tablet dust.
• Not intended for super-automatic espresso machines with integrated grinders—check manufacturer guidelines.

Is Grindz safe for my grinder and for people with dietary concerns?

Yes—Grindz tablets are formulated from natural grains and cereals and are labeled food-safe and gluten-free, so they won’t introduce harmful chemicals into the grinder. They’re designed to be abrasive enough to clean but gentle enough not to damage properly installed burrs or housings when used as directed. Always consult your grinder manual if you’re unsure about compatibility.

• Patented formula uses natural, food-grade ingredients.
• Gluten-free labeling reduces allergen concerns in the cleaning medium.
• Non-corrosive ingredients avoid damage to metal and ceramic burrs.
• Follow grinder maker recommendations for maintenance routines.

Will Grindz remove flavored-coffee odors and help with flavor switching?

Grindz is effective at reducing lingering flavor and aroma from flavored or decaffeinated beans, helping ensure cleaner transitions between roasts. By absorbing oils and dislodging trapped particles, it minimizes residual flavors that cause taste carryover. For best results, run a tablet then grind a small quantity of your new coffee to fully clear any remaining tablet residue.

• Reduces taste carryover when changing between bean types.
• Helps remove flavored coffee oils that cling to burr surfaces.
• Complements routine cleaning for more consistent cup quality.
• Quick to use — no full teardown required for many grinders.

Who is this for: Urnex Grindz is aimed at home baristas, specialty coffee shops, mobile coffee vendors, and anyone who wants an easy, safe way to maintain grinder hygiene and flavor consistency. It’s particularly useful for spaces that switch between regular, decaf, and flavored beans or where high daily throughput risks faster buildup. If your grinder is listed as compatible in its manual and you want a simple, food-safe maintenance tool, Grindz is a practical choice.
