U.S. Wellness Naturals Organic Dried Elderberries 1 lb – Wild-Harvested Sambucus nigra, Resealable Bulk Bag

Organic dried elderberries from U.S. Wellness Naturals are wild-harvested Sambucus nigra packed in a 1 lb resealable bag for cooking into syrups, teas, gummies, jams, and more.

These whole dried black elderberries are USDA-certified organic and sourced from wild stands before being cleaned, tested, and packaged in Cleveland, Ohio. The berries arrive in a bulk pouch designed to keep them stable for extended pantry storage. Note: elderberries are not intended to be eaten raw—heat before consuming.

How should I prepare these elderberries for recipes?

Always cook dried elderberries thoroughly before tasting or using in finished foods. Simmering softens the fruit, concentrates flavor, and is the traditional way to make syrups, teas, and reductions.

• Simmer berries in water for 20–30 minutes for a basic decoction.
• Strain through a fine mesh or cheesecloth before sweetening for syrups.
• Adjust water ratios for thicker jam or thinner tea preparations.

What kinds of dishes and beverages work best with these elderberries?

Dried elderberries add a tart, fruity backbone that complements both sweet and savory recipes. They blend well into preserves, cordial-style drinks, baked goods, and infused liquors.

• Make elderberry syrup, then incorporate into drinks, sauces, or desserts.
• Rehydrate for compotes to top yogurt, pancakes, or roasted meats.
• Steep for a robust tea or reduce for flavoring wine and liqueurs.

What should I know about quality, storage, and safety?

These elderberries are wild-harvested and USDA organic certified, with third-party testing for contaminants. The sealed 1 lb bag preserves freshness; store in a cool, dry place and reseal after opening.

• Expect natural variation in size and color between berries.
• Keep away from direct sunlight; sealed bags help maintain flavor up to three years.
• Remove any stiff stems when straining, as small stem bits can remain.

Are these elderberries suitable for specific diets and uses?

The product is raw vegan and organic, making it compatible with many eating plans as an ingredient rather than a ready-to-eat snack. Use them as a base to craft homemade syrups, gummies, teas, and culinary additions.

• Label lists Sambucus nigra, appropriate for vegan and vegetarian cooking.
• Use as an ingredient in homemade confections and beverages instead of processed alternatives.
• Not sold as a ready-to-eat fruit — cook before consuming for safety.
