Texas Instruments TI-30XS MultiView scientific calculator — 4-line MathPrint display, solar+battery backup

The TI-30XS MultiView is a four-line scientific calculator from Texas Instruments that shows math in textbook format and lets students compare multiple calculations on one screen.

The TI-30XS MultiView is a classroom-friendly scientific calculator built to support high-school math and science work. It combines a MultiView four-line display with MathPrint™ notation so fractions, stacked expressions and exponents appear as they do in textbooks. Battery plus solar backup extends run time, and exam approvals make it suitable for standardized tests like the SAT, ACT and AP exams.

How does the MultiView display help when solving problems?

The four-line MultiView screen lets you see more than one calculation at once so comparisons and step checks are faster. You can scroll through previous entries, paste earlier results into new calculations, and keep track of multi-step work without rewriting each step by hand.

• Shows up to four calculation lines simultaneously for side-by-side comparisons
• Scroll and review earlier entries to spot errors or repeat steps
• Cut, copy and paste previous results into new computations
• Ideal for checking algebraic manipulations and multi-step problems

What makes MathPrint™ and fraction handling useful?

MathPrint™ presents expressions, stacked fractions and exponents the way they appear in textbooks, removing the need to translate problems into linear syntax. The calculator also toggles quickly between fractional and decimal forms and simplifies fractions step-by-step to help you verify intermediate results.

• Displays stacked fractions, radicals and exponents visually like printed math
• Toggle key converts fractions to decimals and vice versa instantly
• Step-by-step fraction simplification for clearer intermediate work
• Exact value entry helps reduce rounding errors in symbolic-style problems

Can it handle statistics, tables and science class requirements?

The TI-30XS supports one- and two-variable statistics and can generate (x,y) tables automatically or from user-entered x-values. Scientific notation and proper exponent formatting make it practical for physics, chemistry and biology calculations that require precise notation.

• One- and two-variable statistics functions for mean, standard deviation and regression
• Automatic or manual (x,y) table generation for exploring function behavior
• Scientific notation with superscript exponents for clear large/small number display
• Approved for SAT, ACT and many AP exams, suitable for standardized testing

Who is this for: Students and instructors who need an affordable, exam-approved scientific calculator that mirrors textbook notation and supports multi-line problem solving. It fits coursework from pre-algebra through algebra II, geometry and introductory statistics, and it’s a practical tool for general science classes including biology, chemistry and physics. The solar/battery power mix and durable layout make it a reliable companion for classroom, homework and test-day use.
