TERRACOR 13-Gallon Compostable Drawstring Trash Bags — 35 Count, 1‑mil Heavy‑Duty BPI‑Certified

TERRACOR 13-gallon compostable drawstring trash bags are heavy-duty, tear-resistant liners certified for commercial composting under ASTM D6400 (BPI Cert #10529905).

These 13-gallon (49.2 L) bags measure 25.2" x 25.6" and come 35 per roll with a reinforced drawstring for easy carrying and closure. Made to handle kitchen scraps and organic waste, the 1-mil thickness balances flexibility with strength so bags resist punctures and tears during normal household or food-service use. They are certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI) for commercial composting, so they meet widely recognized decomposition standards when processed at suitable facilities.

How durable are these compostable bags for everyday kitchen use?

TERRACOR bags are designed to be strong enough for typical kitchen waste, including food scraps and soft packaging. The extra-thick 1-mil construction and tear-resistant formulation reduce rips and leaks when following recommended usage guidelines.

• 1-mil thickness for better puncture and tear resistance
• Reinforced drawstring for secure closure and carrying
• 35 bags per roll — convenient for weekly replacement
• Recommended disposal within 3 days for acidic or alkaline waste

Are these bags truly compostable and what does the certification mean?

Yes — TERRACOR bags carry BPI certification and meet ASTM D6400 standards for commercial compostability (BPI Certificate #10529905). That means they will break down under industrial composting conditions; however, home composting and municipal acceptance vary, so verify local facility policies.

• BPI-certified for commercial composting (ASTM D6400 compliance)
• Certification confirms biodegradation under industrial compost conditions
• Check local composting availability before assuming acceptance
• Not a guarantee of home-compostable performance in all systems

How should I store and use these bags to keep them effective?

Store the roll in a cool, dry place away from heat to preserve strength and shelf life. TERRACOR recommends using the bags within roughly one year of storage and disposing of organic-waste-filled bags within three days, especially when waste contains strong acids or alkalis.

• Keep away from heat and moisture to maintain integrity
• Approximate shelf life: 1 year under ideal storage
• Dispose within 3 days when holding acidic or alkaline organics
• Follow local composting rules for proper processing

Will these bags fit my typical tall kitchen or food-scrap bin?

The 13-gallon size is a common tall kitchen fit and works well in food-scrap collection pails and small commercial bins. The stated dimensions (25.2" x 25.6") create a snug fit for standard tall kitchen cans while leaving room to tie or cinch the drawstring.

• Dimensions: 25.2 in x 25.6 in, compatible with most tall kitchen cans
• Drawstring closure simplifies carrying to compost collection points
• 35-count roll offers roughly a month or more of daily use
• Designed to resist tearing under normal filling and transport

Who is this for? TERRACOR 13-gallon compostable drawstring bags are ideal for households and small food-service operations seeking a certified commercial-compostable option. Choose these bags if you need a reliable, tear-resistant liner for kitchen scraps, want BPI-certified materials for industrial composting, and prefer the convenience of a drawstring closure. If your area lacks commercial composting facilities, verify local acceptance before purchasing.
