Tartar Shield Soft Rawhide Dental Chews for Large Dogs - 24 ct, Bacon Flavor, VOHC Accepted

Tartar Shield Soft Rawhide Dental Chews are bacon-flavored, VOHC-accepted daily chews formulated to reduce plaque and tartar while being gentle on large dogs' gums.

If you want an easy-to-give treat that supports oral hygiene without switching to a hard bone or abrasive chew, these soft rawhide sticks provide a practical option. Made in the USA with four simple ingredients and a patented combination of dental actives, the chews are designed specifically for dogs over 35 pounds and come in a 24-count package. Trusted by veterinarians for nearly two decades, Tartar Shield chews aim to make at-home dental care easier with a savory bacon flavor most pups find irresistible.

How do these chews actually help reduce tartar on large dogs?

The chews use both mechanical and chemical actions: the soft texture lets dogs chew thoroughly, while proven oral actives target plaque and tartar buildup. Clinical testing shows significant reduction in tartar, and acceptance by the VOHC confirms their effectiveness in realistic conditions.

• Patented formula includes sodium tripolyphosphate and cetyl pyridinium chloride to control plaque minerals and bacteria.
• Soft rawhide texture promotes chewing and scraping across teeth surfaces without excessive hardness.
• VOHC acceptance validates laboratory and real-world performance for tartar control.
• Designed for large-breed chewing patterns to increase contact time with teeth.

Will these chews be suitable for a dog with sensitive gums?

These dental sticks are formulated to be gentler than traditional hard rawhide or bone alternatives. Their softer, more pliable structure reduces the chance of chipping teeth and is easier for dogs with tender mouths to chew.

• Soft texture reduces stress on enamel compared with very hard chews.
• Easy-to-bite consistency encourages slower, safer chewing sessions.
• Vet-recommended for routine use as part of an oral care routine.

What ingredients are inside and where are they made?

The product keeps the ingredient list short and transparent: American-sourced beef hide, natural bacon flavoring, and two clinically studied oral care actives. All manufacturing occurs in the United States, combining traceable sourcing with controlled production standards.

• Primary ingredient: USA-sourced beef hide for chew consistency.
• Two active ingredients: sodium tripolyphosphate and cetyl pyridinium chloride for oral benefits.
• Natural bacon flavor makes dental care a rewarding experience.
• Made in the USA under veterinary-tested formulation standards.

How should I give these chews and how often?

Offer one chew per day as a complement to regular brushing or professional cleanings. Monitor your dog during the first uses to ensure the chew size and texture suit their chewing style.

• Recommended for dogs over 35 lbs—adjust frequency if your vet advises otherwise.
• Provide fresh water and supervise the first few chews to confirm comfortable consumption.
• Store in a cool, dry place to preserve texture and flavor.
