Tapo Smart Wi‑Fi Power Strip P316M — 6 Outlets, 3 USB, Matter & Per‑Outlet Energy Monitoring

The Tapo P316M is a Matter‑certified smart power strip that gives you six individually controlled AC outlets, three always‑on USB ports, surge protection and per‑outlet energy monitoring for smarter, safer power management.

Built for modern homes and home offices, the Tapo P316M consolidates multiple power and charging needs into one slim unit while adding smart controls and safety features. It connects over 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi and integrates with major ecosystems through Matter, so you can operate outlets from the Tapo app, voice assistants, or compatible smart home platforms. With a 37‑inch cord, ETL safety certification and automatic shut‑off to prevent overcharging, this strip balances convenience, visibility and protection for everyday electronics.

How does the P316M help me control many devices at once?

The Tapo P316M separates power into six smart AC outlets that you can switch, schedule and monitor individually, plus three USB ports that stay powered for charging. That means you can centralize a media center, workstation or kitchen setup and treat each device independently from your phone or voice assistant.

• Six individually addressable AC outlets for per‑device control.
• Three always‑on USB ports (5V 2.4A) for phones, tablets and accessories.
• Set timers and schedules per outlet via the Tapo app to automate routines.
• Compact footprint and 37‑inch cord for flexible placement behind furniture.

What visibility does it provide into energy use?

P316M tracks energy consumption at the outlet level so you can see which devices draw the most power and when. Use those insights to cut standby waste, optimize charging habits and schedule power‑hungry items to run only when needed.

• Per‑outlet energy monitoring with consumption data in the app.
• Historical usage and real‑time reads to identify high‑draw devices.
• Combine monitoring with schedules to reduce unnecessary runtime.

Will it work with my smart home voice assistants and platforms?

Yes — Matter certification ensures broad compatibility across ecosystems, so the P316M works with Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple HomeKit setups that support Matter, and SmartThings. You can also control everything locally through your LAN for reliability when your internet is intermittent.

• Matter‑certified for cross‑brand interoperability and simple pairing.
• Voice control via Alexa, Siri (through Matter), Google Assistant and more.
• Local control option in the Tapo app to maintain functionality without cloud dependence.

How does the strip protect my devices and batteries?

Alongside surge protection, the P316M includes automatic shut‑off to prevent overcharging and reduce stress on batteries. ETL certification and built‑in safety design help protect connected electronics and reduce fire risk from power faults.

• Surge protection across outlets to guard against voltage spikes.
• Automatic outlet shut‑off to stop trickle charging and overcharging.
• ETL safety certification and secure‑by‑design cybersecurity practices.
