How quickly does this iron heat and remove wrinkles?

The 1200-watt heating element brings the soleplate to ironing temperature fast, letting you tackle multiple garments without long waits. The mid-size nonstick soleplate and adjustable steam settings make it straightforward to move from delicate fabrics to heavier cottons.

• 1200 watts for fast heat-up and steady temperature
• Nonstick soleplate for smooth gliding and less sticking
• Five fabric settings to match heat to material
• Precision tip reaches between buttons, collars and pleats

Can I use steam vertically and will it drip?

Yes — the Shot of Steam delivers an extra burst horizontally or vertically so you can refresh hanging garments, drapes and upholstery without switching tools. The iron’s anti-drip system and 170 ml reservoir minimize leaking, keeping your clothes and ironing surface dry during use.

• Shot of Steam works both horizontally and vertically for versatility
• Anti-drip design prevents water spotting while steaming
• 170 ml water tank holds enough for short steaming sessions
• Spray mist feature tackles stubborn creases before ironing

What safety and convenience features does it include?

The Sunbeam Classic includes a 3-way motion smart auto-shutoff that turns the iron off if left face-down, on its side or upright—reducing the risk of accidents when you walk away. An 8-foot 360° swivel cord improves reach and removes tangles so you can move around a full-sized board or work area without strain.

• 3-way auto shut-off for added safety when unattended
• 8' 360° swivel cord for flexible movement and fewer snags
• Mid-size body for easier handling and storage
• 3-year limited warranty for long-term reassurance

How do I get the best results on different fabrics?

Match the iron’s fabric setting to the garment label and use steam sparingly on delicate fibers. Start with a lower heat and increase as needed; the precision tip helps finish areas around seams and buttons without shifting the fabric.

• Use the five fabric settings to protect silks, synthetics and cottons
• Employ the spray mist for thick, stubborn wrinkles before steaming
• Vertical steam refreshes drapes and suits without an ironing board
• Nonstick soleplate minimizes sticking for smooth finishes

Who is this for: The Sunbeam Classic Steam Iron is ideal for people who want a reliable, no-fuss iron for everyday garment care—apartment dwellers, busy households, or anyone who needs quick touch-ups for work clothes, curtains or upholstery. It’s especially useful if you value fast heat-up, a compact yet capable footprint, and safety features like motion-sensitive auto shut-off.
