Southwire Romex SIMpull 14/2 NM-B 50ft Coil — Solid 14 AWG Copper with Ground, Low-Friction Jacket

This 50-foot coil of Southwire Romex Brand SIMpull NM-B cable is designed for common indoor electrical tasks such as branch circuits for outlets, switches and lighting in homes, stores and similar dry locations. It features solid copper conductors, a ground conductor, and a patented SIMpull jacket that reduces friction during installation. The cable is rated 600 volts and intended for use where conductor temperatures do not exceed 90°C, while ampacity follows the 60°C limitation per code.

How does the SIMpull jacket change installation effort?

The SIMpull coating reduces surface friction so the cable moves more smoothly through conduit, wall cavities and around studs, saving time and effort on pulls. Installers notice less resistance when feeding long runs and fewer snags when routing around obstacles.

• Patented low-friction jacket for easier pulling
• Simplifies routing through tight bends and cavities
• Reduces installer fatigue and potential jacket damage

Where is this 14/2 NM-B cable appropriate to use?

This Romex 14/2 is intended for dry, indoor applications such as residential branch circuits powering outlets, switches and lighting. It may be installed exposed or concealed in normal dry locations and can be run in dry air voids of masonry walls, but it must not be used in wet or damp areas.

• Residential wiring: outlets, switches, lighting circuits
• Above-ground installations and concealed dry-location runs
• Air voids of non-damp masonry or tile walls (if dry)

What electrical ratings and safety limits should I follow?

The cable carries a 600-volt insulation rating and uses solid 14 AWG copper conductors with an equipment grounding conductor. Although the insulation is rated up to 90°C, ampacity and code compliance for NM-B must follow the 60°C column in the NEC for typical device connections and terminations.

• Voltage rating: 600 volts
• Conductor type: solid 14 AWG copper with ground
• Temperature: insulation rated to 90°C; ampacity limited to 60°C per NEC guidance

Who is this for? This 50-foot coil of Southwire Romex SIMpull 14/2 NM-B is aimed at electricians, electrical contractors, remodelers and savvy DIYers working on indoor residential or light commercial projects that require standard 14-gauge branch-circuit wiring. It’s particularly useful when easier pulls and reduced installation friction are priorities, but it is not suitable for wet locations, underground runs, or mobile units where different cable types are required.
