SIRIUS SIGNAL FOR LIFE LED SOS Distress Signal Kit — USCG‑Approved C-1003, 60 hr Runtime, Floats Upright

Boaters, mariners, and offshore workers who prefer a non-pyrotechnic alternative will value the C-1003’s clean LED light, orange daytime flag, and whistle—everything required to meet USCG distress-signal standards without flares. Designed to float upright and operate far longer than traditional flares, this compact kit replaces hazardous pyrotechnics with a reusable, battery-powered solution.

How long will the LED SOS light operate in real rescue situations?

The C-1003 runs the USCG-spec SOS flash pattern for up to 60 hours on the included batteries, far exceeding the minimum requirement. That extended runtime improves chances of detection during multi-day searches or slow-response situations.

• Up to 60 hours continuous SOS flashing
• Includes batteries for immediate use
• LED efficiency lowers the risk of runtime failure

How visible is this distress signal from a distance?

With a design optimized for marine visibility, the LED light is visible up to 10 nautical miles in clear conditions, making it suitable for coastal and nearshore rescues. The high-intensity LED and upright flotation help elevate the light above waves and spray for better line-of-sight to responders.

• Visible up to 10 nautical miles in optimal conditions
• Floats upright to increase elevation above waterline
• Distinct SOS flash pattern aligns with USCG visual recognition

Does the kit include everything required to meet USCG distress-signal rules?

Yes—the C-1003 kit bundles the LED distress light, an orange daytime distress flag, and a quality marine whistle to satisfy night, day, and audible USCG requirements. Carrying this kit means you have a non-pyrotechnic alternative that complies with regulation components.

• Orange distress flag for daytime signaling
• Marine whistle meeting USCG audible requirements
• Signal light certified to Coast Guard standards for night use

How does the C-1003 handle safety and environmental concerns?

Replacing pyrotechnic flares with LED technology eliminates toxic combustion byproducts, reduces fire hazards, and removes the single-use waste problem. The unit’s reusable format and included whistle and flag support safer, lower-impact distress signaling.

• No toxic combustion residue from LEDs
• Reduces fire risk compared with flares
• Reusable design cuts single-use waste

Who is this for: The Sirius Signal C-1003 is aimed at recreational boaters, commercial mariners, fishing crews, kayakers venturing offshore, and anyone required or advised to carry USCG-compliant distress signals but who prefers a safer, longer-lasting, non-pyrotechnic option. It’s particularly useful where extended visibility, environmental stewardship, and crew safety are priorities.
