SHOKZ OpenRun bone conduction Bluetooth sport headphones — Black, open-ear, 8 hr battery

SHOKZ OpenRun are lightweight, open-ear bone conduction Bluetooth headphones that deliver music and calls while keeping your ears free and your surroundings audible.

Engineered for runners, cyclists, and anyone who wants audio without blocking their ear canals, the SHOKZ OpenRun pairs 8th-generation bone conduction technology with a featherweight wraparound frame. The open-ear design sits on your cheekbones to transmit sound directly to the inner ear, leaving your eardrums exposed so you can stay aware of traffic, teammates, or ambient noise. With IP67 water and sweat resistance, eight hours of continuous battery life, and fast-charging capability, these headphones balance safety, comfort, and reliable performance for daily workouts and commutes.

How do SHOKZ OpenRun headphones keep me aware during outdoor activities?

By using bone conduction, the OpenRun routes audio through vibrations on the cheekbones rather than into the ear canal. That physical separation preserves your ability to hear environmental sounds like cars or announcements while still providing clear music and calls.

• Open-ear design leaves ear canals unobstructed for ambient sound.
• Bone conduction transmits audio via cheekbone vibrations, not in-ear drivers.
• Low-profile wraparound frame stays secure without sealing off hearing.

What are the battery life and charging features I should expect?

OpenRun offers up to eight hours of continuous playback on a full charge and supports a rapid 10-minute quick charge that yields approximately 1.5 hours of use—handy for short workouts when you’re pressed for time.

• 8 hours of music, calls, or podcasts per full charge.
• 10-minute quick charge provides about 1.5 hours of playback.
• Magnetic induction charging minimizes connection fiddliness and wear.

Are these headphones sweatproof and suitable for intense workouts?

The OpenRun is IP67 rated, designed to resist sweat and heavy moisture during running or gym sessions. This rating means the headphones can withstand sweat and rain, and include moisture detection alerts to protect the battery and charging port.

• IP67 rated for protection from sweat and rain (not for swimming).
• Rugged, sweat-resistant construction for high-intensity workouts.
• Moisture detection alert helps ensure safe charging after exposure.

How good are the calls and sound quality on bone conduction devices?

SHOKZ’s 8th-generation bone conduction technology balances clarity and comfort: it delivers clear voice calls and full-range audio suitable for podcasts, playlists, and coaching cues. While the sound profile differs from in-ear or over-ear headphones—especially in bass depth—it provides excellent intelligibility and reliable call performance.

• Bone conduction provides clear midrange and vocal clarity for calls.
• Optimized vibration transmission for balanced, natural-sounding audio.
• Works well with phones and Bluetooth-enabled devices across platforms.

Who is this for? The SHOKZ OpenRun is aimed at athletes and active commuters who prioritize situational awareness and comfort over sealed isolation. Choose these headphones if you run or cycle outdoors, work out in shared spaces, or want reliable, earbud-free audio for hands-free calls. If you prefer deep bass isolation or plan to swim, consider alternative sealed designs; otherwise, OpenRun offers a practical, safety-minded listening solution for daily active use.
