SHIMANO SPD-SL Cleats SM-SH11 Yellow 6° Float — Durable Walkable Road Cleat for Secure Engagement

SHIMANO SM-SH11 is a yellow SPD-SL cleat set that provides 6 degrees of rotational float for road cycling shoes and pedals.

These SM-SH11 cleats are engineered to pair precisely with SHIMANO SPD-SL road pedals, offering controlled lateral movement and a walkable profile to reduce wear when off the bike. The yellow 6-degree float strikes a balance between fixed positioning and free rotation, helping riders find a comfortable stance while keeping contact secure. Designed for durability, the cleat features ground-contact patches in blue, yellow and red that help slow wear to the engagement surface so the cleat retains reliable pedal capture over time.

How does the 6-degree float affect my pedaling?

The 6-degree float allows slight heel rotation while clipped in, reducing knee stress for many riders without introducing excessive play at the pedal. It gives predictable micro-adjustment through the pedal stroke, which can feel more natural than a fully fixed cleat. Ideal for riders who want moderate freedom of movement without sacrificing efficient power transfer.

• Provides 6° rotational movement to ease knee tracking
• Balanced stability for steady power transfer
• Suitable for riders transitioning from neutral to performance positions

What makes these cleats compatible with SPD-SL pedals?

SM-SH11 cleats are shaped and rigidly rated to match SHIMANO SPD-SL pedal geometry and engagement springs so they clip in and out cleanly. The mounting holes align with standard 3-bolt road shoe patterns for straightforward installation. The construction ensures consistent release angles and secure engagement under typical road cycling forces.

• Precision shape for SPD-SL engagement and release
• Standard 3-bolt shoe compatibility
• Rigidity tuned to SHIMANO pedal specifications

How durable and walkable are these cleats for off-bike use?

SM-SH11 includes a walkable design with colored contact points that protect the cleat’s engagement area from excessive abrasion. While road cleats are not as walk-friendly as mountain-bike types, these help reduce damage from occasional walking to and from the bike. Replaceable wearing zones and the multi-color pads extend usable life compared with unprotected cleat edges.

• Colored ground-contact points reduce abrasion on the engagement surface
• Walkable profile for short distances off the bike
• Extended service life when used responsibly on hard surfaces

Which riders should choose the yellow 6° float SM-SH11 cleats?

These cleats suit recreational to performance road cyclists seeking moderate float to protect knees and allow small positional shifts while pedaling. They’re a good option for riders who experience discomfort with zero-float cleats or who want a forgiving pedal interface for long rides, commutes, or group outings. Use them when you want a reliable, long-wearing replacement that matches SHIMANO SPD-SL systems.

• Road riders wanting moderate rotational freedom
• Users replacing worn or lost SPD-SL cleats
• Cyclists who occasionally walk while clipped but want durable engagement

Who is this for: SHIMANO SM-SH11 yellow 6° float cleats are intended for cyclists using SPD-SL pedals who prefer a controlled amount of lateral movement and value durable, walkable cleat features. They are appropriate as a direct replacement for OEM cleats or as an upgrade to yellow, moderate-float options for long rides, commuting, and club rides where both comfort and dependable pedal engagement matter.
