ScotchBlue Original Multi-Surface Painter's Tape 1 in — 6 Rolls, Clean Removal & UV-Resistant

This multi-surface painter’s tape is designed for both pros and DIYers who need crisp paint lines without damaging surfaces. The acrylic adhesive balances strong edge-holding with low residue removal, while the tape body resists sunlight and moisture so you can use it indoors and outdoors. Each package contains six 0.94-inch (commonly referred to as 1-inch) rolls at a 5 mil thickness—stock up to cover multiple rooms or large projects.

How does this tape help get sharp paint edges?

ScotchBlue Original is engineered to press down firmly along trim and wall joints so paint can’t seep underneath. The adhesive forms a reliable seal on smooth and lightly textured surfaces, giving you defined lines when you remove the tape at the recommended angle.

• Use on walls, baseboards, molding and window trim for crisp paint transitions
• Apply firmly and wait 30–60 minutes before painting for best seal
• Remove slowly at a 45-degree angle after paint is dry to the touch

Will it strip paint or leave residue on my walls?

The tape is formulated for clean removal from many common home surfaces for up to 14 days without damaging the underlying finish. It’s appropriate for properly cured paint, glass, metal and many types of trim, but always test inconspicuously on delicate or newly painted surfaces first.

• Removes cleanly up to 14 days on compatible surfaces
• Resists leaving sticky residue when removed correctly
• Avoid prolonged exposure on freshly applied or water-sensitive finishes without testing

Can I use it outside and will sunlight reduce performance?

This ScotchBlue tape resists UV rays and moisture so it can be used outdoors for short-term projects. While it tolerates sunlight better than basic masking tapes, long-term outdoor exposure beyond the recommended timeframe may reduce tack or removal performance.

• Designed to resist sunlight and moisture for short-term outdoor tasks
• Suitable for trim, siding details and outdoor fixtures when used as directed
• Not recommended for extended outdoor exposure beyond specified removal window

What materials and sustainability features does this product include?

The tape uses an acrylic adhesive and a tape backing designed for general painting tasks across multiple surfaces. Scotch has incorporated renewable and post-consumer materials into the product design and packaging to reduce environmental impact.

• Acrylic adhesive with solvent-free formulation
• Made using renewable resources and a core with post-consumer waste
• Manufactured at facilities with energy-management certification
