Rubbermaid XL Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket 2.1-Bushel White with Royal Blue Comfort-Grip Handles — Lightweight, Smooth Interior

The Rubbermaid XL Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket is a 2.1-bushel white laundry carrier shaped to sit on your hip and equipped with three comfort-grip handles for easier one-handed or hip carry.

This lightweight, durable laundry basket blends practical form with everyday comfort. Its tapered "hip-hugger" silhouette keeps weight close to your body when transporting clothes, while the smooth interior protects delicate fabrics from snags. Finished in white with royal blue handles, the basket fits bedroom, bathroom, closet, or laundry-room routines and stacks or tucks away between uses.

How does the hip-hugger shape make carrying laundry easier?

The contoured profile narrows toward the base so the basket rests against your hip instead of jutting outward, reducing arm strain and improving balance. Because weight is closer to your center of gravity, one-handed carrying is more comfortable for short trips.

• Curved side designed to fit snugly on your hip for stable transport
• Lower center of mass makes it easier to carry one-handed
• Tapered base prevents swinging and keeps loads secure

Will the basket protect delicate clothes and keep them from snagging?

The interior and rim are molded smooth to minimize edges or protrusions that catch fabrics. The vent pattern is engineered to allow airflow without sharp openings, helping keep items fresh while avoiding snags on delicate materials.

• Smooth-molded interior prevents fabric snags and pulls
• Ventilation holes sized to allow airflow without catching threads
• Rounded rim for gentle handling when loading and unloading

What carrying options do the comfort grips provide?

This model includes three ergonomically placed handles so you can choose the most comfortable grip for the load and the route. Use the side handles for hip carry, the top handles for two-handed lifting, or the center handle for a quick one-handed carry.

• Three comfort-grip handles: top, side, and center for versatile carrying
• Textured grips reduce slipping when hands are damp or soapy
• Royal blue handle accents for visual contrast and easier hand placement

How does the Rubbermaid XL basket fit into home storage and space planning?

At about 2.1 bushels capacity, it holds a typical bedroom or bathroom load without dominating floorspace. Its rectangular footprint and tapered shape allow it to be slid beside washers, tucked under counters, or nested with similar baskets for compact storage.

• Dimensions accommodate standard laundry loads while remaining space-conscious
• Stackable and nestable with similar baskets for efficient storage
• White finish blends with most laundry-room, bathroom, and closet decors

Who is this for: The Rubbermaid XL Hip-Hugger Laundry Basket suits anyone who regularly carries laundry around the home and prefers a practical, low-effort solution. It’s especially helpful for people who favor one-handed or hip carrying—students moving between dorm rooms, parents shuttling clothes to family washers, or apartment-dwellers working with limited laundry-room space.
