Rowenta AccessSteam Steam Iron DW2459U1, Stainless Steel Microsteam Soleplate & Cordreel

The Rowenta AccessSteam Cordreel Steam Iron (DW2459U1) is a stainless-steel, high‑power steam iron with a built‑in retractable cord and Microsteam soleplate designed for fast, even wrinkle removal.

This iron combines concentrated steam delivery and robust construction to make daily garment care quicker and more reliable. Rowenta engineered the AccessSteam to distribute steam through hundreds of tiny holes for consistent coverage, while the retractable cord design keeps storage tidy. It includes features like a precision tip, vertical steaming, and an automatic shutoff so you can press shirts, trousers, dresses, and delicate fabrics with greater control and confidence.

How does the Microsteam soleplate improve ironing results?

The stainless steel soleplate uses Microsteam technology to disperse steam evenly across fabric, helping soften fibers and smooth wrinkles faster than steam-only irons with fewer holes. The smooth steel surface also glides easily across garments to reduce friction and speed up sessions.

• Over 350 micro-holes for uniform steam distribution
• Stainless steel surface for low-friction gliding
• Precision tip reaches pleats, collars, and seams

What convenience does the retractable cord bring?

The integrated cordreel stores the power cord inside the iron at the push of a button, eliminating loose cable clutter and making the unit easier to tuck away in a closet or cabinet. It also reduces wear on the cord and speeds cleanup after ironing.

• One-step retraction for compact storage
• Cleaner ironing station with fewer tangles
• Durable mechanism designed for frequent use

Can I use this iron for vertical steaming and delicate fabrics?

Yes — the AccessSteam supports vertical steam, allowing you to freshen hanging garments, curtains, and fabric upholstery without an ironing board. The adjustable steam output and smooth soleplate make it suitable for common delicate materials when used at appropriate settings.

• Vertical steam mode for hanging garments and drapes
• Adjustable heat/steam settings for different fabrics
• Auto‑off safety feature for unattended use

How durable and safe is this Rowenta steam iron?

Built from quality components and a stainless steel soleplate, the iron aims for long service life and reliable performance. Safety features such as automatic shutoff add protection against accidental overheating if the iron is left idle on an ironing board or soleplate.

• High-wattage heating system for consistent steam production
• Robust stainless steel construction for everyday use
• Automatic shutoff enhances user safety
