Ring Solar Charger for Battery Doorbell (1st Gen) — USB-C Weather-Resistant Panel, Trickle Charge

Ring Solar Charger for Battery Doorbell (1st Gen) is a weather-resistant USB-C solar power accessory that helps keep your Ring Battery Doorbell charged by converting sunlight into ongoing trickle power.

This compact solar charger is designed specifically for the first-generation Ring Battery Doorbell, offering a hands-off way to top up your doorbell’s battery using natural light. It mounts near your door and feeds power via a USB-C connection to reduce the frequency of manual recharges. Battery longevity will depend on settings, motion activity, and how much direct sun the panel receives.

How simple is the installation process?

Installing the Ring Solar Charger is quick and straightforward: attach the included mounting bracket to a wall or siding, secure the charger, and plug the USB-C cable into your doorbell. The bracket is made to stay put outdoors so you won’t need frequent adjustments.

• Includes wall anchors and screws for masonry or drywall mounting.
• Weather-resistant panel and bracket for outdoor use.
• USB-C connection works with the Ring Battery Doorbell (1st Gen) without extra adapters.
• No professional wiring required—DIY friendly setup.

What kind of charging performance can I expect?

The solar charger provides trickle charging rather than rapid bulk charging, helping maintain or slowly extend battery life when the panel gets 3–4 hours of direct sunlight per day. Performance varies by location, seasonal sunlight, and the doorbell’s activity level, such as frequent motion alerts or video recordings.

• Optimal with 3–4 hours of direct sun daily for noticeable battery extension.
• Actual gains depend on motion settings and recording frequency.
• Designed to supplement, not replace, the internal battery for heavy-use scenarios.
• USB-C power delivery simplifies connection and compatibility.

Is the charger durable enough for outdoor exposure?

The panel and bracket are built to withstand typical outdoor conditions, with weather-resistant construction that resists rain and sun exposure. It’s intended to stay mounted year-round, though placement should avoid extreme shade or obstructive fixtures for best results.

• Weather-resistant housing suitable for outdoor mounting.
• Mounting hardware included to secure the unit against wind and movement.
• Recommended placement in a location with minimal shade during daylight hours.
• Durability reduces the need for routine maintenance.

What comes in the box and what else do I need?

The package includes the Ring Solar Charger, a secure mounting bracket, wall anchors, and screws. No additional accessories are required to connect to the Ring Battery Doorbell 1st Gen, but you should confirm you have a suitable outdoor location with adequate sun exposure.

• Solar charger with built-in panels and USB-C output.
• Secure mounting bracket plus wall anchors and screws.
• No extra adapters necessary for Ring Battery Doorbell (1st Gen).
• Choose a sunny spot and basic tools (drill, screwdriver) for installation.

Who is this for? The Ring Solar Charger for Battery Doorbell (1st Gen) suits homeowners and renters who want to reduce how often they remove and recharge their Ring Battery Doorbell manually. It’s ideal for properties with a reliably sunny mounting spot and for users who prefer a low-maintenance, eco-friendly way to supplement battery power. If your doorbell records heavily or your location has very limited sunlight, consider monitoring performance to determine whether trickle solar charging meets your needs.
