Ring Motion Detectors 2-Pack (Newest) — Battery Wireless, Amazon Sidewalk & Pet‑Sensitive Instant Alerts

Ring Motion Detectors (newest 2-pack) are compact wireless sensors that detect movement and send instant notifications via Amazon Sidewalk, with no dedicated base station required.

These two motion detectors are designed to expand coverage in and around your home without adding a hub. They join your existing Ring setup or operate individually over Amazon Sidewalk, giving flexible placement options where Wi‑Fi or battery wiring is inconvenient. Pet‑sensitive settings help reduce false alarms from animals under 50 lbs, and you can opt for optional 24/7 professional monitoring through a compatible Ring subscription when available.

How quickly will I get alerts when motion is detected?

Notifications arrive to your connected device within seconds of detection, depending on network conditions and device settings. Instant push alerts make it easy to take immediate action or check live camera feeds linked to your Ring account.

• Push notifications to Ring app on mobile devices
• Compatibility with other Ring devices for linked alerts
• Latency depends on Amazon Sidewalk or local connectivity
• Adjustable sensitivity to manage frequency of alerts

Do these detectors need a separate base station to work?

No separate base station is required for basic operation; the detectors connect over Amazon Sidewalk when coverage is available. That simplifies installation and reduces equipment clutter, though Amazon Sidewalk availability and range may vary by location.

• Works independently via Amazon Sidewalk (where supported)
• Plug‑and‑play setup through the Ring mobile app
• No hardwiring — battery powered for flexible placement
• Can integrate with existing Ring ecosystem if you have other devices

How do I manage false alarms from pets or small movements?

The sensors include pet‑friendly settings so you can lower sensitivity to reduce alerts from animals under 50 lbs. Fine‑tune detection zones and sensitivity levels within the Ring app to balance coverage with fewer unnecessary notifications.

• Pet‑immune mode for animals under 50 lbs
• Adjustable motion sensitivity in app settings
• Placement guidance to avoid direct floor or heat sources that trigger false alerts
• Combine with other Ring devices for corroborating alerts

Can I get professional monitoring with these motion detectors?

Yes — you can add 24/7 professional monitoring through a compatible Ring subscription, sold separately. Pro Monitoring provides emergency response for qualifying events, without requiring long‑term contracts, but the service is optional and subject to plan terms.

• Optional 24/7 Pro Monitoring via Ring subscription
• No multi‑year contract required for monitoring service
• Monitoring activates emergency response for qualifying alerts
• Subscription and feature availability vary by region

Who this is for: These Ring Motion Detectors are suited to homeowners and renters who want to extend motion coverage without wiring or extra hubs, people who need flexible placement (garages, hallways, patios), and families with small pets who need fewer false notifications. If you already use Ring products, the detectors add more local awareness; if you prefer monitored protection, consider adding a compatible Ring subscription for round‑the‑clock response options.
