Retrospec Solana 1" Extra-Thick Yoga Mat — 72 x 24 in Non-Slip High-Density NBR with Carry Strap

The Retrospec Solana is a 1-inch extra-thick, non-slip exercise mat designed to protect joints and provide a stable surface for yoga, Pilates, stretching, and bodyweight workouts.

Built from high-density NBR foam, the Solana mat delivers cushioned support across a generous 72 x 24-inch surface so you can move confidently through standing flows, floor sequences, or guided stretches. Its ribbed, slip-resistant texture helps maintain balance while transitions are smoother thanks to the forgiving thickness. Free from phthalates, heavy metals, latex, and BPA, this mat keeps things simple to use and easy to clean — and a nylon carrying strap is included to keep it portable.

How does the 1" thickness change my practice?

The extra inch of foam reduces pressure on knees, hips, elbows, and spine, making floor-based exercises more comfortable and reducing the need to shift for relief. It’s firm enough to support balance yet soft enough to cushion impact during longer holds and low-impact movements.

• 72" x 24" footprint gives ample room for alignment and movement.
• High-density NBR foam balances cushioning with stability.
• Reduces focal pressure points during seated or kneeling poses.
• Suitable for low- to moderate-impact workouts and recovery stretches.

Will it slip during sweaty sessions or transitions?

Solana’s ribbed surface was designed to increase traction and reduce slipping under hands and feet. The texture helps you lock into poses and maintain steady transitions without relying on extra grip towels or adhesives.

• Non-slip, ribbed finish for improved traction.
• Stable base prevents sliding on hardwood, tile, or gym floors.
• Consistent surface grip even during light perspiration.
• Helpful for balance work and flowing sequences where stability matters.

How do I clean and store the mat to keep it fresh?

Maintenance is straightforward: a gentle soap-and-water wipe followed by air drying keeps the mat hygienic without damaging the foam. Avoid soaking or machine washing; if it arrives with a mild factory scent, unroll and air it for a day or two.

• Wipe with a mild soap and water solution; do not submerge.
• Hang to dry completely before rolling or storing.
• Use the included nylon strap to roll and carry the mat compactly.
• Air out new mats to dissipate any harmless initial odor.

Is this mat durable enough for everyday use?

Constructed from resilient NBR foam, Solana stands up to regular sessions and at-home training without tearing or compressing quickly. The dense material preserves shape and support so the mat remains comfortable over time.

• High-density foam resists daily wear and keeps cushioning intact.
• Ribbed surface maintains texture and traction after repeated use.
• Nylon strap reduces handling stress when transporting the rolled mat.
• Free from harsh chemicals like phthalates and latex for safer everyday contact.

Who is this for? The Retrospec Solana is ideal for beginners who want extra joint protection, for practitioners needing a more cushioned surface during restorative or prenatal sessions, and for at-home exercisers who want a stable, portable mat for yoga, Pilates, stretching, and bodyweight workouts. If you prefer a thick, supportive mat that’s easy to clean, free of common harsh chemicals, and simple to carry, Solana is designed to remove barriers to getting active and comfortable wherever you practice.
