How does the folding design make this set travel-friendly?

The board folds in half to reduce length and includes a magnetic lock to keep pieces secure during transit. When closed it stores neatly in a bag or backpack, and when opened it provides full-sized pockets for comfortable play.

• Opens to 17.5 x 5.3 inches for standard play space
• Folds to 8.7 inches for compact storage
• Magnetic clasp keeps board closed and stones contained
• Sturdy wooden construction resists warping on the road

What comes in the box and how ready-to-play is it?

This Queensell set ships complete with the wooden board and a full complement of stones so you won’t need extra pieces. A portioned pocket design keeps the game organized and the included extra stones replace any lost pieces over time.

• 56 mancala stones: 48 playing pieces plus 8 spares
• Pre-finished wooden board with molded pockets
• No assembly required — start a game straight out of the box
• Compact size works on tabletops, desks, and travel trays

Is this set suitable for teaching kids counting and planning?

Mancala encourages simple arithmetic, turn-based thinking, and forward planning, making it a useful, screen-free learning tool. The clear layout helps young players visualize moves and outcomes while playing with partners of different ages.

• Enhances counting and basic addition through sowing mechanics
• Promotes turn-taking and strategic foresight
• Durable pieces stand up to classroom and family use
• Appropriate for multiple age groups — rules scale with skill

How does the magnetic lock and build quality affect longevity?

The magnetic closure prevents accidental openings during transport and reduces the chance of losing stones. Combined with a solid wooden build and smooth pocket edges, the set is designed for repeated use without rapid wear.

• Magnetic lock for secure travel and tidy storage
• Solid wood resists dents and keeps a quality feel
• Molded pockets protect stones and simplify gameplay setup
• Easy-to-clean surface for long-term maintenance
