Qualirey Spotted Lanternfly Trap 4-Pack — Reusable Tree-Mount Mesh, Green, 9.8x16x36 in, Non-Toxic

Qualirey 4 Pack Spotted Lanternfly Trap is a reusable, non-toxic tree-mounted net that captures spotted lanternfly nymphs and adults without pesticides.

If you've found sticky egg masses or clusters of spotted lanternfly on your property, these tree-wrap traps give a hands-off way to intercept the insects as they climb tree trunks. Each pack includes four polyester mesh traps sized 9.8 x 16 x 36 inches, plus 2.5 m hemp rope and nails for straightforward hanging. The traps use physical interception rather than chemicals, making them suitable for yards and orchards where pets, birds and pollinators are a concern.

How do I set up a Qualirey lanternfly trap on a tree?

Installation is quick: drape the trap around the trunk, secure the top with the provided rope, and anchor the bottom near the trunk so insects cannot slip between the tree and mesh. For wide trunks, wrap a jute or hemp support rope around the tree and hang the trap from that support to get a snug fit.

• Unpack the polyester mesh and check the top opening can be tied closed.
• Use the included 2.5 m hemp rope to secure the top around the trunk or a supporting rope.
• Fix the lower edge with a nail close to the trunk so climbing insects enter the trap.
• Position traps 3–6 feet above ground where lanternflies commonly climb.

What maintenance does the trap require and how do I empty it?

The mesh is reusable; regularly check and empty trapped insects to keep the barrier effective and prevent crowding. Open the bottom carefully to remove contents into a sealed bag or container, then retie and rehang—no pesticides or baits needed.

• Inspect weekly during peak lanternfly activity and after storms.
• Dispose of captured insects in a sealed bag or compost if allowed locally.
• Rinse and air-dry the polyester mesh to reuse the trap season after season.

Will the trap harm birds, squirrels, or beneficial insects?

Qualirey traps rely on size-selective mesh and a containment design to minimize impacts on non-target wildlife. Because the product uses no pesticides and captures climbing lanternflies physically, it offers a lower-risk option for areas with regular bird and small-mammal activity.

• No chemical baits or sprays that could poison non-target animals.
• Mesh openings and placement make it unlikely to ensnare larger wildlife when installed properly.
• Check and empty frequently to reduce any accidental interactions.

How large are the traps and what surfaces do they fit?

Each trap measures about 9.8 x 16 x 36 inches, providing a tall mesh sleeve that fits most medium to large trunks and many orchard trees. For very thick trunks, the included rope allows flexibility, or you can hang the trap on a jute loop wrapped around the tree for a secure fit.

• Dimensions: 9.8" x 16" x 36"—suitable for most residential trees.
• Includes four traps, four 2.5 m hemp ropes, and eight nails for anchoring.
• Polyester and iron construction stands up to varied weather.
