Purina Pro Plan Weight Management Cat Food — Chicken & Rice, 16 lb | High-Protein Reduced-Fat

Purina Pro Plan Weight Management Chicken & Rice is a high-protein, reduced‑fat dry food formulated to help adult cats lose weight while preserving lean muscle.

This 16 lb bag of Purina Pro Plan Weight Management delivers targeted nutrition for less active adult cats that need to shed pounds or maintain a healthy weight. Real chicken is the first ingredient, and the recipe pairs concentrated protein with reduced fat and natural prebiotic fiber to support body composition and digestive balance. Carefully selected vitamins, minerals and omega‑6 fatty acids support skin, coat and vision while providing complete and balanced daily nutrition.

How does this formula help a cat lose weight without losing muscle?

The recipe emphasizes high-quality protein and lower fat to encourage fat loss while protecting lean muscle mass. Feeding the formula within a controlled-calorie plan helps create a steady energy deficit without compromising essential amino acids.

• High protein level (formulated around 43%) to support muscle retention.
• Reduced fat—about 20% less than Purina Pro Plan Complete Essentials Chicken & Rice.
• Complete, balanced nutrient profile for safe weight reduction when fed as directed.

What digestive and skin benefits does this food provide?

Digestive health is supported through added natural prebiotic fiber to help maintain beneficial gut bacteria and stool quality. Omega-6 fatty acids and targeted vitamins help keep skin and coat healthy and resilient.

• Natural prebiotic fiber to promote intestinal balance.
• Omega-6 fatty acids to support skin and coat condition.
• Vitamin A and taurine included for vision and overall wellness support.

What is inside the bag and how is it formulated?

The formula uses real chicken as the primary ingredient alongside rice and other selected components chosen for specific nutritional roles. Each batch is formulated to provide 100% complete and balanced nutrition for adult cats with lower activity levels.

• Real chicken as the first ingredient for recognizable animal protein.
• Carefully measured vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids.
• Guaranteed nutrient levels and consistent kibble designed for adult feeding schedules.

How should I feed this food to reach weight goals safely?

Weight management works best when paired with portion control, regular weighing and gradual adjustments. Combine feeding guidelines on the bag with your veterinarian's recommendations to set a safe, measurable pace for weight loss.

• Use the feeding chart on the bag as a starting point and adjust per progress.
• Weigh your cat regularly and track body condition instead of only relying on time.
• Consult your vet before starting a weight-loss plan, especially for cats with health conditions.
