Purina Pro Plan Toy Breed Dry Puppy Food — Chicken & Rice, 5 lb Bag, Small Kibble & DHA

Purina Pro Plan Toy Breed Chicken & Rice is a small-kibble dry puppy formula designed to meet the nutritional needs of puppies expected to weigh under 10 pounds as adults. Raising a toy breed puppy requires food tailored to fast metabolisms, tiny mouths and rapid development. This 5 lb bag of Purina Pro Plan Toy Breed Dry Puppy Food features real chicken as the first ingredient and a blend of nutrients formulated to support brain and vision development, digestion, and bone growth during the critical early months. Bite-sized crunchy pieces make it easier for small jaws to chew while delivering concentrated nutrition in each serving.

How does this food support a toy breed puppy’s digestive health?

The formula includes live probiotics specifically selected for dogs to help maintain digestive balance. Better digestion helps your puppy absorb more nutrients from every meal, which is important for steady growth and energy in small breeds.

• Contains live probiotics to support a healthy gut environment
• Highly digestible ingredients for improved nutrient uptake
• Small kibble size reduces the risk of picky eating and aids consumption

What ingredients help with brain and bone development?

This recipe supplies DHA from fish oil — an omega-rich nutrient linked to neural and visual development in growing puppies. Balanced minerals like calcium and phosphorus are included to support proper bone and tooth formation as your toy breed matures.

• Real chicken as the primary protein source for muscles and growth
• DHA from fish oil to support brain and eye development
• Calcium and phosphorus for bone and tooth health

Is the kibble size and texture suitable for tiny mouths?

The kibble is purposely small and crunchy to match the bite and chewing needs of toy breed puppies. Crunchy texture helps maintain dental activity while delivering a concentrated nutrient profile so smaller portions still meet daily requirements.

• Small, bite-sized kibble designed for toy breed jaws
• Crisp texture to encourage chewing and oral activity
• Concentrated nutrition ideal for smaller portion sizes

How do I transition my puppy to this formula and measure portions?

Switch gradually over 7–10 days by mixing increasing amounts of Purina Pro Plan with the current food to avoid stomach upset. Follow feeding guidelines on the bag and adjust for activity level and growth — toy breeds often require more frequent, smaller meals.

• Mix with current food, increasing Pro Plan daily during transition
• Refer to the package feeding chart for starting portion sizes
• Divide daily allowance into multiple small meals for tiny stomachs
