PUREPLUS Whole-House 5-Micron Sediment & Carbon Water Filter 10x4.5 2-Pack, Coconut-Shell Carbon & Multi-Density 30K Gal

PUREPLUS 5 Micron 10" x 4.5" whole-house sediment and coconut-shell activated carbon filter replacement (2-pack) traps sand, rust, chlorine taste and odors to deliver cleaner water to every tap.

This two-pack of PUREPLUS 5-micron replacement cartridges is built for standard 10" x 4.5" heavy-duty housings and designed to be a direct, cost-effective swap for many OEM pre-filters. Combining three density polypropylene layers with a coconut-shell activated carbon layer, the cartridge captures particulate debris while reducing chlorine and improving taste and clarity. It’s engineered for everyday municipal tap water and household point-of-entry systems, offering high capacity and long service life when used under recommended conditions.

How does this filter improve water from my main supply?

The multi-layer design removes physical particles and reduces chlorine and other taste/odor-causing compounds. Polypropylene layers trap dust, sand and rust while the activated carbon adsorbs chlorine and organic matter for clearer, better-tasting water across all fixtures.

• 5-micron nominal rating for effective sediment removal
• Coconut-shell activated carbon reduces chlorine taste and odors
• Three-density PP structure captures varied particle sizes
• Designed for whole-house (point-of-entry) filtration

What capacity and replacement schedule should I expect?

Capacity depends on source water quality, but the cartridge is rated up to about 30,000 gallons under typical municipal conditions. For most households, replacing every 3–6 months keeps performance consistent and prevents pressure drop as the element loads with contaminants.

• Rated up to 30,000 gallons under ideal conditions
• Suggested 3–6 month replacement for average household use
• Monitor flow and taste—replace sooner if performance drops
• Longer life versus single-layer filters due to multi-density build

Will this fit my system and how easy is installation?

PUREPLUS cartridges are manufactured to standard 10" x 4.5" dimensions and match the form factor of many OEM pre-filters, so they fit most heavy-duty housings and systems that accept 9.75" x 4.5" filters. Installation is a simple drop-in replacement with no special tools beyond your housing wrench.

• Compatible with many OEM models and standard housings
• Drop-in replacement — easy installation and removal
• No special plumbing modifications required
• Built to exacting tolerances to prevent leaks

Are there safety certifications or material details I should know?

PUREPLUS filters are produced from food-grade materials meeting European EC 1935/2004 and are BPA-free. Manufacturing follows ISO9001/14000 processes with extensive testing, including pressure and durability checks to ensure consistent performance.

• Food-grade materials compliant with EC1935/2004
• BPA-free and REACH-conscious components
• Multiple production tests: pressure, water-hammer and inspections
• Maintains beneficial minerals while removing contaminants

Who this is for: Homeowners or renters with municipal or city tap water looking for an affordable, reliable whole-house sediment and carbon pre-filter to remove particulate matter, chlorine taste and odors. This 2-pack suits families who want an easy-to-install, high-capacity replacement compatible with most standard 10" x 4.5" housings. If your water source is untreated well water with heavy iron, iron bacteria or unusually high sediment loads, consider a well-specific filtration option instead.
