Pro Gaffer Tape 2 in x 55 yd Black — 11-mil Matte Cloth, Strong Hold & Clean Removal

Pro Gaffer Gaffers Tape is a durable 2" x 55 yd matte cloth tape with a rubber adhesive that tears by hand, sticks securely, and removes cleanly from most surfaces. Pro Gaffer from Pro Tapes is a professional-grade 11-mil cloth gaffers tape designed for stage, studio, film, event, and general-purpose use. Manufactured in the USA, this black tape balances strong holding power with clean removability, weather resistance, and easy hand-tearing. It’s widely used to mark stages, secure cables, label gear, and handle temporary repairs where a low-reflective finish and reliable grip matter.

How will this tape hold up under heavy use?

The tape features an 11-mil matte cloth backing and a rubber-based adhesive engineered for a 45 lb per inch tensile strength. It resists abrasion and conforming to irregular profiles while maintaining enough adhesion to stay put during performances and transport.

• 11-mil thick matte cloth for durability and low reflection
• Rubber adhesive provides strong initial tack and steady hold
• Tensile strength roughly 45 lb per inch for secure binding
• Abrasion-resistant surface for repeated foot traffic and handling

Can I remove Pro Gaffer tape cleanly from equipment and floors?

Yes — the rubber-based adhesive is formulated to peel away from most surfaces without leaving sticky residue when removed properly. For best results, remove slowly and evenly; avoid leaving tape on a surface for extremely long periods or in direct sunlight to minimize risk of adhesive transfer.

• Designed for clean removal from stage floors, cases, and cables
• Peels off by hand without special solvents in most situations
• Minimize long-term outdoor UV exposure to reduce adhesive bonding
• Test on painted or delicate surfaces if uncertain before applying

Is this tape suitable for outdoor and temperature-variable environments?

Pro Gaffer is rated to withstand temperatures from 50°F to 200°F, making it usable across many outdoor and indoor conditions. The cloth backing retains flexibility and the adhesive remains effective across this range, though extreme or prolonged exposure can change performance over time.

• Operates reliably between 50°F and 200°F
• Weather-resistant for temporary outdoor setups and events
• Maintains conformability when applied to uneven surfaces outdoors
• Not intended as a permanent solution for prolonged outdoor exposure

What sizes and applications are best for this product?

This listing is for the 2" wide by 55 yd long roll in black — a versatile size for marking, wrapping, and temporary securing. The width is wide enough for clear stage marks and cable runs while the 55-yard length provides many uses from touring and live events to studio setups and workshop tasks.

• 2" width ideal for stage gaff marks, cable bundling, and labeling
• 55 yd roll supplies multiple scenes, rehearsals, or maintenance jobs
• Matte black finish reduces stage glare and reflections
• Hand-tearable for quick, tool-free application and adjustments

Who is this for?

If you manage live events, film or photo shoots, road cases, venue floors, or technical gear, this tape is a practical, general-purpose supply for marking, securing, and quick fixes. It’s also useful for DIYers who want a tough, removable cloth tape for household projects that require a strong but clean-peeling adhesive.
