Pool Mate Pool Stabilizer & Conditioner, 7 lb Granular Cyanuric Acid — Fast-Dissolving UV Chlorine Protectant

Pool Mate 7-Pounds Premium Pool Stabilizer and Conditioner is a granular cyanuric acid formula that quickly raises and maintains stabilizer levels to protect chlorine from UV degradation.

When sunlight eats away at free chlorine, pools lose sanitizing power and require more frequent dosing. This Pool Mate stabilizer dissolves rapidly and is formulated to bring cyanuric acid (CYA) to the ideal maintenance range so your pool stays protected longer. Use a reliable test kit to measure your current CYA, then add the product according to the included dosing chart to reach 40–100 ppm. Proper application and circulation ensure the stabilizer blends evenly and performs as intended.

How quickly will the stabilizer dissolve and start protecting chlorine?

The Pool Mate formula is designed for fast dispersion when added slowly into the skimmer or pre-dissolved in warm water. With continuous circulation and a clean filter, the product should dissolve and distribute within 24 hours, after which cyanuric acid is available to reduce UV-driven chlorine loss.

• Add directly to the skimmer or premix in a pail of warm water for faster dissolution.
• Run the pump continuously for 24 hours to fully blend the stabilizer.
• Ensure filters are clean to avoid trapping undissolved particles.

How much Pool Mate do I need to reach the recommended 40–100 ppm?

Dosing depends on your pool volume and current cyanuric acid level. For pools with no CYA, the product label gives a clear chart; for example, 6 ounces of this stabilizer raises CYA by roughly 10 ppm in 5,000 gallons. Follow the included chart to calculate the exact amount to achieve the target range.

• New or freshly filled pools: add 4 oz per 1,000 gallons as a starting guideline.
• Use the product’s dosing chart for precise adjustments based on current test results.
• Retest after 24–48 hours and adjust slowly to avoid overshooting desired CYA.

Will Pool Mate change my chlorine or pH requirements?

Pool Mate itself doesn’t sanitize or alter pH; it helps chlorine last longer by shielding it from sunlight. Continue maintaining free chlorine at the recommended 2.0–4.0 ppm and keep pH in the 7.4–7.6 window for optimal performance. Regular testing ensures both chlorine and pH remain in their effective ranges alongside the added stabilizer.

• Keep free chlorine at 2.0–4.0 ppm for safe, effective sanitation.
• Maintain pH between 7.4 and 7.6 to maximize chlorine activity.
• Monitor CYA with a reliable test kit and adjust additions gradually.

How should I apply Pool Mate to avoid cloudiness or undissolved residue?

Adding the stabilizer slowly into the skimmer while the pump runs is the recommended method to minimize undissolved granules entering the pool. If you prefer, dissolve the product in warm water first and then pour the solution into the skimmer. A clean filter and continuous circulation for 24 hours reduce the chance of cloudiness.

• Add slowly to the skimmer or premix in a warm-water pail before adding.
• Run the pump continuously for 24 hours to help complete dissolution.
• Ensure the filter is clean to avoid trapping granules and causing haziness.
