PlayMonster 5 Second Rule card game — 5-second marble timer, 288 double-sided cards

5 Second Rule is a high-energy card game where players must name three items that match a prompt before a twisted five-second marble timer runs out.

Quick thinking, louder laughs, and ridiculous answers make this PlayMonster title a go-to for game night, sleepovers, classroom icebreakers, and travel. Each round puts a simple category—like breeds of dogs or movie titles—under time pressure so that players blurt out the first things that come to mind. The set includes 288 double-sided cards (576 prompts), clear rules, and a distinctive twisted marble timer that visually and audibly counts down the frantic five seconds.

How does the 5-second timer change the way we play?

The twisted marble timer creates real urgency and a playful panic that turns easy prompts into hilarious mistakes. Because players must answer quickly, conversations speed up and more spontaneous, surprising answers appear.

• Twisted marble track visually shows time running out.
• Distinctive "zoooooop" sound adds tension and amusement.
• Short rounds keep gameplay fast and social.
• Encourages quick recall and off-the-cuff answers rather than perfect responses.

PlayMonster includes everything you need to start immediately: hundreds of prompts, a five-second timer, and simple rules. The game supports groups of three or more players, scaling easily for large parties or small family gatherings.

How long does a typical round or session last?

Each individual turn lasts only five seconds, so rounds are extremely brief and games can be as short or as long as you like. Play for a set number of points, a time limit, or just free-for-all rounds until everyone’s laughing enough.

• Single turns take five seconds plus quick scoring.
• Short sessions: a few minutes for casual play.
• Long sessions: play to a point target or through the whole card stack.
• Flexible play styles suit quick breaks or extended game nights.

What kinds of prompts are included and are they family-friendly?

The prompt cards feature familiar categories and pop-culture topics designed to be approachable and fun for teens and adults. Questions range from easy everyday items to topics that encourage creative or funny responses—without relying on offensive content.

• 576 prompts that mix common categories and playful twists.
• Balanced content suitable for ages 10+ and adult groups.
• Designed to prompt fast recall and humorous answers.
