Pivmuth Humane Rat Traps 2-Pack 12.5"x5.5"x4.5" Reusable No-Kill Live-Capture, Rust-Resistant Indoor/Outdoor

Pivmuth humane rat traps are two reusable, no-kill live-capture cages sized 12.5" x 5.5" x 4.5" designed to catch mice, rats and chipmunks safely for easy release.

These medium single-door traps combine a sensitive trip mechanism with sturdy, chew-resistant construction so you can remove small rodents without poison or lethal measures. Built for indoor and outdoor use, the pair is corrosion-resistant, simple to bait and quick to clean—making humane pest control practical for homes, garages, gardens and sheds.

How do these traps catch rodents without harming them?

The traps use a high-sensitivity pedal and single-door design: when an animal steps on the trigger plate to reach bait, the door snaps shut and locks to contain it securely. The internal mechanism is tuned to respond to small movements while avoiding sudden jolts that could stress the animal.

• Highly responsive trigger plate increases first-contact capture rates
• Door locks automatically to prevent escape during transport
• Interior space allows the animal room to move, minimizing injury risk
• Non-toxic materials avoid chemical exposure to pets or kids

Will these traps work outdoors in wet or cold weather?

Pivmuth traps are made from rust-resistant materials and engineered to withstand typical outdoor conditions, so they hold up in gardens, yards and porches. While durable, placing the traps in sheltered locations (under an overhang or inside a covered bait station) extends their lifespan and keeps the trigger mechanism operating smoothly.

• Rust-proof finish for seasonal outdoor use
• Weather-resistant build reduces deformation and sticking
• Recommended to position in covered spots for best performance
• Easy to dry and clean after outdoor exposure

What size pests are these traps suitable for, and which animals should you avoid using them on?

The 12.5" x 5.5" x 4.5" interior is optimized for mice, rats and chipmunks—small to medium rodents that fit comfortably inside the cage. They are not intended for larger wildlife such as big squirrels, raccoons or opossums, which can damage the trap or escape by chewing and exerting force on the mechanism.

• Ideal for mice, Norway rats, roof rats and chipmunks
• Not recommended for large squirrels, opossums or raccoons
• Medium size balances capture space and concealment for bait
• Use multiple traps for areas with high rodent traffic

How easy is it to set, release, and maintain these traps?

Setting the Pivmuth traps is straightforward: place bait on the pedal, open the door to arm the mechanism, and position the trap where you see activity. After capture, the door releases safely for catch-and-release; the traps clean easily with soap and water and are built to be reused many times without loss of function.

• Simple one-step bait-and-arm setup—no tools required
• Secure transport handle and user-friendly release latch
• Durable materials allow repeated cleaning and reuse
• Kid- and pet-safe non-toxic design for household peace of mind

Who is this product for? Homeowners, gardeners, and renters who prefer non-lethal rodent control will find these Pivmuth traps useful—especially if you want a reusable, low-maintenance solution that avoids poisons and snap traps. They suit anyone managing mice, rats or chipmunks around kitchens, basements, garages, sheds, yards and gardens, and who values humane handling and weather-resilient construction. If you need traps for larger wildlife, consider a heavy-duty alternative designed for those species.
