PIRIPARA Kayak Roof Rack J-Bar Set of 4 (2 Pairs) — 150 lb Capacity, Foam-Padded Side-Loading Carriers

PIRIPARA Kayak Roof Rack is a set of four J-bar carriers that mount to most square, oval, and flat crossbars to carry up to two kayaks or boards securely with a combined 150 lb capacity.

Take your watercraft to the next launch without wrestling on the roof. This PIRIPARA roof rack package includes two pairs (four J-style carriers), universal mounting hardware, and four heavy-duty 8-ft tie-down straps so you can fasten kayaks, canoes, surf skis, or boards to factory and most aftermarket crossbars. Built from alloy steel with rust-resistant coating and adjustable protective padding, the design focuses on easier loading, reliable support, and protection for hulls during trips.

How does the J-bar shape make loading and unloading simpler?

The angled J-bar opens the side profile so a paddler can slide a kayak into place rather than lifting it straight up over the roof. The shape reduces the required vertical lift and gives a stable cradle that fits hulls and sit-on-top boats alike. This design also allows you to mount two boats on the roof without them pressing directly against each other.

• Wide-mouth J-bar profile for side loading and reduced lift height
• Angled support holds hulls securely during placement
• Pair configuration fits two kayaks or mixed boards compactly

What materials and protections prevent damage to my boats?

Frames are constructed from alloy steel with a rust-resistant finish to withstand outdoor storage and coastal conditions. Each carrier includes adjustable padding where the hull contacts the metal to absorb shock and prevent scratches. Hardware is coated to resist corrosion and the tie-down straps are heavy-duty to hold loads steady without cutting into the hull.

• Alloy steel frame with corrosion-resistant coating for durability
• Adjustable foam pads to protect boat surfaces while transporting
• Included 8-ft straps secure bow and stern to vehicle anchor points

Will these racks fit my vehicle and crossbars?

PIRIPARA J-bars are designed to clamp to most factory or aftermarket square, oval, and flat crossbars. The universal mounting hardware provides a quick on/off installation so you can take the racks on and off as needed. Note that the clamps are not compatible with round crossbars, so confirm your bars’ shape before ordering.

• Universal mounting hardware for square, oval, and flat crossbars
• Quick-install clamps for fast setup and removal
• Not compatible with round crossbars — check bar profile first

How much weight and what types of craft can it carry?

The complete set supports up to 150 pounds total, enough for two average recreational kayaks or combinations of canoes, surf skis, and boards. Because the carriers sit the boats on their sides, you can transport longer craft more efficiently and fit multiple board types on the same roof. Always consult your vehicle roof and crossbar weight limits before loading.

• 150 lb combined load capacity for two watercraft
• Suitable for kayaks, canoes, surfboards, SUPs, and windsurf boards
• Side-loading configuration maximizes usable roof space

Who is this for? Outdoor enthusiasts, weekend paddlers, and families who need a practical, sturdy roof-carrier solution will benefit from the PIRIPARA J-bar set. It’s particularly useful if you frequently load kayaks on your own or swap between different craft: the side-loading J shape reduces strain, the universal mounts fit most crossbars, and the included straps and hardware let you head to the water with everything needed for a secure transport. If your vehicle uses round crossbars, consider an adapter or a different rack designed for round profiles.
