PC-Petrifier wood hardener and PC-Woody epoxy paste combine to restore, reinforce, and rebuild rotted or missing wood for durable, paintable repairs indoors and out.
This two-piece kit pairs a penetrating, water-based wood hardener (PC-Petrifier, 16 oz) with a two-part epoxy paste (PC-Woody, 12 oz) so you can consolidate soft, decayed wood and then rebuild lost sections with a weather-resistant, sandable material. The hardener soaks into fragile fiber to stabilize and prepare the substrate; the epoxy paste forms a strong, wood-like replacement that accepts paint, stain, drilling, and machining after cure. Together they address common decay in sills, trim, frames, beams, and furniture without requiring full component replacement.
PC-Petrifier is a low-viscosity, water-based consolidant designed to flow deep into soft, rotted wood fibers. Once absorbed, it hardens the internal structure so the damaged area can support a filler and finish. It also improves the bond for the epoxy paste and for subsequent primer and paint coats.
Once the consolidated wood is firm and dry, PC-Woody is used to rebuild missing sections or fill voids. The two-part epoxy paste cures to a stable, wood-like material that resists weather, rot, and many chemicals, and it machines like real wood. Apply it to replace lost profile, then shape, sand, and finish to match the surrounding surfaces.
Remove loose or crumbly material and expose sound wood grain before applying PC-Petrifier. Allow the hardener to fully penetrate and cure, then mix and pack PC-Woody to rebuild the profile. Finish with sanding, priming, and painting or staining when the epoxy has fully cured.
The combined system restores structural support and replaces missing wood with a stable, resilient material that tolerates weather, moisture, and UV when painted or sealed. While not a substitute for full replacement in severely compromised structural members, it provides a long-lasting repair for sills, trim, doors, furniture, and log homes when applied correctly and finished with proper coatings.
Who is this kit for: homeowners, carpenters, restorers, and maintenance pros who want a practical way to salvage and repair rotted wood without full replacement. Use it when you need to stabilize fragile wood, rebuild lost detail, or prepare surfaces for a lasting finish. The PC Products kit offers a proven approach for projects from window sills and door frames to furniture and decorative beams, backed by a long-running specialty manufacturer focused on repair solutions.
Q: Can I use PC-Petrifier and PC-Woody outdoors?
A: Yes. After curing and finishing with appropriate primer and paint, the system resists weather, mildew, and UV for exterior use.
Q: How long before I can sand and paint the PC-Woody repair?
A: Dry time varies by temperature and thickness; typically wait until fully cured—often 24–72 hours—then sand and finish.
