Pawaboo Small Animal Playpen with Zippered Top — Green, Pop-Up Mesh Sides & Water-Resistant Base

The Pawaboo Small Animal Playpen is a lightweight, pop-up enclosure with mesh sides and a zippered top that creates a breathable, visible play area for rabbits, guinea pigs and other small pets.

This compact, foldable pen blends indoor convenience with brief outdoor use: a water-resistant 190T polyester base limits messes, a spring-frame pop-up design sets up in seconds, and dual zippers let you interact with or tend to your pet without removing the top. At approximately 52" × 15" when open and folding down to about 11" × 11", it’s made for quick supervised play sessions, travel, and easy storage.

How secure and visible is the playpen for my small pet?

The playpen uses breathable mesh panels on all sides and the top to ensure constant airflow and clear sightlines so you can always check on your animal. The dual-zippered mesh cover provides a physical barrier while still allowing feeding, petting and access for cleaning.

• 360° mesh panels give uninterrupted visibility.
• Dual-zippered top enables secure closure and easy access.
• Designed for supervised use to reduce escape or climbing risks.

Will this pen handle indoor accidents or outdoor dampness?

The bottom is made from 190T polyester taffeta that resists water and helps contain brief spills or urine during short-term use. It’s suitable for occasional outdoor placement on grass when weighted or staked, but it’s not intended as a permanent or unsupervised outdoor shelter.

• Water-resistant base minimizes floor contact with liquids.
• Wipe-clean surface for quick maintenance between uses.
• Three ground stakes included to anchor on soft soil.

How easy is setup, takedown, and transport?

The Pawaboo pen uses a spring-frame pop-up design that requires no tools: it opens instantly and folds flat into the included carry bag. Because the frame is spring-loaded, care should be taken when opening and closing—keep it away from faces and small children during those moments.

• Pop-up frame opens in seconds; folds to 11" × 11" for storage.
• Lightweight construction makes it travel-friendly.
• Carry bag included for compact transport and storage.

Which pets and situations is this playpen best suited for?

The enclosure is tailored to gentle small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, hedgehogs, chicks and tiny kittens for supervised play, exercise, or short-term brooding. It is not built for heavy chewers, high-jumping animals, determined escape artists, or long-term confinement.

• Ideal for supervised indoor playtime and short outdoor sessions.
• Good for temporary exercise areas, travel, and indoor containment.
• Not recommended for unsupervised or long-duration housing.

Who is this for: Pet owners who want a portable, breathable, and easy-to-store play space for small, calm animals will appreciate the Pawaboo Small Animal Playpen. It suits people who need a temporary, visible area for supervised exercise, travel, or short-term outdoor time—anyone looking for a quick setup play area without permanent installation. If you need a heavy-duty, chew-proof, or permanent outdoor run, consider a sturdier, permanent enclosure instead.
