Panasonic WhisperFit FV-0511VF1 Retrofit Bath Fan 50/80/110 CFM — Slim Housing, Quiet DC Motor

Panasonic FV-0511VF1 WhisperFit is a slim retrofit bathroom exhaust fan with selectable 50/80/110 CFM airflow, a whisper-quiet DC motor, and flexible installation hardware. The FV-0511VF1 is designed to replace older bathroom fans quickly while improving ventilation performance and reducing noise. Its ultra-slim housing and single-hinge Flex-Z bracket let it fit into shallow joist spaces and tighten up installation time, while the DC/ECM motor and SmartFlow technology balance efficiency and consistent airflow. Pick-A-Flow lets you tailor ventilation to the room size or situation without sacrificing quiet operation, and its Energy Star rating helps keep energy use low.

How does Pick-A-Flow help me choose the right airflow?

Pick-A-Flow gives you three preset airflow options—50, 80, or 110 CFM—so you can set the fan to match bathroom size and usage. Switching between rates is done at the unit, avoiding complex wiring changes and allowing adjustable ventilation for large showers or low-usage powder rooms.

• Select 50 CFM for small half baths and low-frequency use
• Choose 80 CFM for medium bathrooms with regular showers
• Use 110 CFM for larger bathrooms or heavy steam situations

How quiet and efficient is the WhisperFit motor?

The fan uses a DC/ECM motor combined with SmartFlow control to deliver steady airflow with minimal sound. Noise levels are kept low for comfortable environments while the efficient motor cuts electrical consumption compared with older AC fans.

• DC/ECM motor for lower energy draw
• SmartFlow maintains consistent CFM under typical duct conditions
• Engineered for whisper-quiet operation during normal use

Will this unit fit my existing ceiling or joist space?

The FV-0511VF1 features a low-profile 5-5/8" housing depth that fits in 2 x 6 joist bays and larger, making it well-suited for retrofit projects. The Flex-Z Fast Bracket simplifies placement and secures the housing without extensive framing changes.

• Low-profile housing fits shallower joist cavities
• Flex-Z single-hinge bracket speeds alignment and mounting
• Retrofit-ready design reduces demo and reconstruction work

What installation and accessory options are available?

Panasonic offers matching grilles, replacement motors, soffit vents, and kits with lights, heaters, or sensors to expand functionality. These options let you customize the fan for lighting, timed operation, or humidity control without replacing the entire system.

• Grilles and replacement parts for easy maintenance
• Add-on models available with LED light, heater, or timer features
• Compatible kits for exhaust routing and soffit venting

Who is this for? This fan is aimed at homeowners, renovators, and contractors looking for a quiet, efficient retrofit exhaust solution that fits tight joist spaces. It suits small to large bathrooms where selectable airflow, low noise, and energy efficiency are priorities, and for anyone who wants a long-lasting motor plus easy installation and upgrade paths with accessory options.
