OXO Good Grips Stainless Steel Steamer Basket — 8" Collapsible, Telescoping Removable Handle

OXO Good Grips Steamer Basket is an 8-inch stainless steel collapsible steamer with a removable, telescoping handle and fold-flat feet for efficient steaming and compact storage.

Whether you want crisp-tender broccoli, delicate fish fillets, or reheated dumplings, this OXO stainless steel steamer basket adapts to different pots and cooking styles. The removable extendable handle locks for safe lifting and retracts to clear pot lids, while the foldable feet elevate the basket above the waterline for consistent steam circulation. Made of durable stainless steel and dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup, this compact-steamer design suits everyday cooking and small kitchens.

How does the extendable handle improve safety and convenience?

The telescoping handle extends and locks to make filling, carrying, and draining the basket safer and easier without risking burns. When steaming, the handle retracts to fit under most pot lids, and it can be removed entirely for full-basket steaming of larger items.

• Extends and locks in place for stable transport
• Retracts to allow pot lids to close during steaming
• Removable to convert basket into a full-sized steamer
• Handle hole accepts a fork for added reach and safety

Will it fit my pot and common appliances like multicookers?

This steamer is sized for pots with an 8-inch diameter or larger and is compatible with pressure cookers and multicookers. Its compact footprint and adjustable feet make it versatile for a range of cookware depths.

• Designed for 8" diameter pots and up
• Works with pressure cookers and multi-cookers
• Folding feet raise basket 1 3/4" for proper steam flow
• Collapsible components allow use in shallow or deep pots

How does the steamer perform and clean up after use?

The stainless steel construction offers stable heat transfer and resists staining or flavor retention, so foods steam evenly with predictable results. After cooking, the basket and removable handle are dishwasher-safe, streamlining cleanup for frequent use.

• Sturdy stainless steel for even steaming and durability
• Dishwasher-safe parts for fast cleanup
• Fold-flat feet and removable handle reduce storage space
• Open design handles a variety of food shapes, including fillets

What specific features help when steaming larger or oddly-shaped foods?

The handle can be taken off to use the entire basket surface for items like whole fish fillets or multiple layers of vegetables. The wide-open design and raised feet ensure steam reaches all sides of larger pieces without direct contact with boiling water.

• Removable handle lets the full basket surface be used
• Wide interior accommodates larger or irregular foods
• Feet create a 1 3/4" clearance for even steam distribution
• Durable rim maintains shape under heavier loads

Who is this for: The OXO Good Grips 8" Steamer Basket is ideal for home cooks who want a reliable, space-saving tool for everyday steaming—from solo meals and small families to anyone using pressure cookers or multi-cookers. It suits cooks who value safety features like a locking extendable handle, quick dishwasher cleanup, and a design that adapts to different pot sizes and food shapes without cluttering kitchen storage.
