OXO Good Grips 8-Inch Double Rod Fine-Mesh Strainer — Stainless Steel, Non-Slip Handle

The OXO Good Grips 8-Inch Double Rod Strainer is a fine-mesh, ergonomically gripped kitchen sieve designed to drain, rinse, and strain foods with durable double-rod support and a stable balancing loop.

This stainless-steel strainer combines a tight woven mesh with a wide brim and dual-rod frame to handle routine kitchen tasks—from rinsing berries and draining pasta to sifting grains and separating stock solids. The handle uses OXO's non-slip, pressure-absorbing Good Grips material so you can hold it confidently when wet, and the balancing loop rests securely on pots or bowls for hands-free draining. Dishwasher-safe construction and a hanging loop make storage and cleanup straightforward.

How does the fine mesh help in everyday cooking?

The fine grid captures small particles while letting liquids flow through, making it useful for delicate foods and clear broths. It prevents seeds or tiny solids from passing and is gentle enough for berries and grains without crushing them.

• Traps seeds, pulp, and small solids for clearer sauces and stocks
• Evenly rinses berries, rice, and quinoa without loss
• Suitable for straining loose tea leaves or sieving dry ingredients

What makes the double-rod construction more reliable?

The double-rod frame reinforces the mesh and restores shape under load, so the strainer resists bending when you press or rest it across a pot. This sturdier build reduces sagging and extends the tool's useful life compared with single-wire designs.

• Dual stainless-steel rods support the rim and handle connection
• Less flex when holding heavier foods like pasta or beans
• Durable welding points resist warping over time

Will it stay put on bowls and pots while draining?

Yes—the wide rim and balancing loop let the strainer sit securely on most bowls and stockpots, giving you stability for hands-free draining. The loop also doubles as a hanger for tidy storage when not in use.

• Broad stainless-steel brim distributes weight across a bowl lip
• Balancing loop keeps the strainer aligned while draining
• Built-in hanging loop for space-saving kitchen storage

How comfortable and safe is the handle during use?

OXO's Good Grips handle is ergonomically contoured and made from a slip-resistant rubberized material that absorbs pressure, reducing hand fatigue. The textured surface maintains grip when wet and is dishwasher safe, so cleaning won’t degrade performance.

• Ergonomic shape fits the palm for better leverage
• Rubberized, non-slip material holds securely when wet
• Dishwasher-safe finish for easy cleanup
